I have been studying and training in the martial arts for a little over 22 years (I started April 16th 1990). In those years I have studied various forms although my first discipline was in Isshin Ryu Karate which is primarily a stand up striking style if you will. Several years ago, wishing to add another element to my martial arts development, I began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which is type of grappling art or more in the way of ground fighting as opposed to the aforementioned stand up style. About 2 years ago I started to notice that I felt as if I was slowing down a step. Often times I found myself competing in training and competition with guys that were 10 years younger than me and in many cases even half my age. So between the more intense workout and doing so at a relatively advanced age, I was starting to feel it. This is when I decided to change things up in my diet and workout routine and try the P90X diet and training program as well as Shakeology. I had followed the program pretty much to the letter and the results were dramatic. Not too long after that I also did their program called Rev Abs and immediately followed that up with their detox and cleans program called Ultimate Reset. I wanted to share with you the results of these stages. They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. The first pictures were taken on August 1st of 2011, the day after I have gotten back from vacation and weighed 192 LBs. At this point I “thought” I was already in pretty good shape. Clearly a case of “I didn’t know what I didn’t know.” It’s slightly embarrassing to even look at these pictures now knowing what I know now and what I thought then.
