I moved from Santiago, Chile to Chicago, IL in 2000 to pursue my education. I didn't realize life had other plans for me. I found myself going from job to job without enjoying what I was doing. I would arrive home after my workday and eat junk food, watch TV and sleep. Working out had not been reinforced by any of my friends at the time and I slowly fell into a depression. I eventually got to weigh 190 pounds, which is a lot for a guy my height (5'7''). My last 'bad' job I had was working as a Medical Bill Collector, the main reason being to pay off the debts I had accumulated during the years. I lasted 6 months and found my energy completed depleted by the end of my work shift. I did not enjoy my job because I started off being the bad guy. These are the phone calls a lot of people try to avoid. I would do my best to offer options to help them out and regain control over their finances, but very few saw this as a good thing. I quit after realizing I could not do this anymore. I needed a change in my life. I went to Cortiva Institute - Chicago School of Massage Therapy after finding an ad in the local newspaper. I thought "What the heck, let's give this a try." I had been wanting to go back to school and thought this would be a good choice. After attending a workshop, I realized this career would fit in with my plans to help others and allow them to heal. At the same time, I would be healing myself from years of childhood trauma that surfaced while I was in school. My 'a-ha' moment came after giving my first massage session in the Student Clinic of Cortiva. After I finished, I left the room and felt I was glowing inside and that it was radiating out of me. That's when I realized one of my purposes in life... to help others. The school allowed me to do a Work-Study program, where I was able to assist visually impaired students. I am grateful at the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and do what I could for my fellow students. I love Beachbody because they have given me the opportunity to achieve my fitness, nutritional and financial goals in an exciting and motivating way. I have developed my core muscles, which have come in handy while performing several massage sessions in a day. I have also been able to take care of my body through healthy supplements. This way I can stay healthy and fit, as well as extend the longevity and efficacy of my massage therapy. As a Beachbody Coach, I am looking forward to building a relationship with you, helping set your fitness goals and encouraging and supporting you to get to the next level. I decided to become a Beachbody Coach for these reasons: - I graduated this year from Massage Therapy school, where I learned the benefits of having a healthy mind and body as well as the importance of nutrition and exercise. I believe that being a Beachbody Coach is a natural progression. Since starting the P90X program, it has helped me out tremendously as a massage therapist. My body is my tool when it comes to this job, and taking better care of it has been possible with P90X. - I found that Tony Horton did such a good job motivating me to complete the workouts. Ever since I started working out with the Ab Ripper 100 Routine from the Power 90 In-Home Boot Camp VHS, I thought he did such a good job to get me to finish each workout. I would like to be able to encourage others like me to accomplish their fitness goals. - I had a chance encounter with Jason 'Puckhead' Diebold, a successful Coach himself, during a struggling time in my life. After graduating from school in September 2009, things in all areas of my life were failing or breaking down on me, one after another. Jason was able to help me turn things around by educating me on the benefits of being a Beachbody Coach. I will always be grateful that he contacted me. - Because of these 2 amazing guys, I want to do the same with others by becoming a Beachbody Coach and create a connection, a relationship. I will be here to help guide you through the ups and downs of your workout routine. I will also help in setting personal fitness and nutritional goals so you can get to the next level.
