LINCOLN PARK, MI Hi! I'm Nicole. I'm 25 and after watching the P90X infomercials a handful of times, AND doing some internet research to make sure it's not fake like most infomercials, AND hearing about a friend who was in the process of doing P90X, I decided to take the plunge. So here I am. Did I mention that the day I put on my 'fat' jeans and they fit me perfectly was also a motivator?
What I want most from Hi! I'm Nicole. So here I am. Did I mention that the day I put on my 'fat' jeans and they fit me perfectly was also a motivator?
What I want most from this is to feel healthy and strong. I don't care how much I weigh, I care about how I look in my clothes, but more importantly, how I feel. I want energy. I want to be able to take the stairs instead of the elevator. I want to be able to run with my dog instead of stroll!
My history is that I was an athlete in high school. I had horrible eating habits but I was always working out so I never saw the effects of that. My senior year of high school I quit playing sports and started packing on the pounds. It's amazing how fast eating a Quarter Pounder w/Cheese 3-4 times a week can take it's toll. I was soon 160 pounds, and no matter what my mom told me, I knew it wasn't muscle. I hovered around 160 for the next couple years and one summer I decided to start swimming. I swam 1000 yards every day and cut out fried foods. I lost 30 pounds and looked fantastic. Hooray for me! A year or so later I became a desk jockey and only got out of my seat for the vending machines or to heat up some frozen tv dinners that contained a ridiculous amount of calories, fat, and sodium. Slowly, very slowly my weight started creeping back up. I now hover around 140, but all that muscle I had has turned to fat and I'm not too satisfied with the results.
I'll be starting my journey with P90X on 2/1/10 and can't wait for the next 90 days!

I start p90X on January 25th and am soooo excited! I took my fitness test today and I had to make a few adjustments to the equipment I used for it. I don't have very heavy weights yet, so my # of arm curls were extremely high. Instead I used my red resistance band and spread my feet apart a distance of 17". When I retake the test @ the end, I'll do the same thing: red band, 17".
I did do 30 in & outs, but my form was horrible. The more I did, the lower my back got to the ground, although I never touched the ground. I'm sure when I redo the test @ the end my form will be a lot better.

Today started out completely wrong, so my whole healthy eating thing was thrown out the window. I woke up about 4 hours late (ended up being 2 hours late to work). I usually work at night and had More ... 01/27/10 It's the evening of Day 3 and oh man I am sore! It's a good sore though. I think. My hamstrings are yelling at me every time I stand up or sit down, but other than that things are going great. More ... 01/24/10 Especially for the 1st month of this program, I'm going to following the p90x meal plan as closely as possible.
