I am a 45 year old entrepreneur, who works in front of a computer way to much for her own good! This type of activity is finally catching up to me, meaning what I eat, what I do during the course of the day and what little time a take to exercise has become quite obvious both mentally and physically.

This type of activity is finally catching up to me, meaning what I eat, what I do during the course of the day and what little time a take to exercise has become quite obvious both mentally and physically.
Growing up, I was somewhat of a tomboy, one of those little scrawny kids that could eat just about anything and never gain a pound. Through high school and college, I managed to maintain some sort of athletic activity like gymnastics, mountain biking, road biking, MX riding, and water skiing. During my mid 30's I took up racing mountain bikes which then lead me to try a few triathlons (a mini and an Olympic), due to my work & family schedule, that became way too time consuming and ended up sticking to mountain bike riding about 2 or 3 days a week as a fun hobby as well as a few other sport activities like MX riding and wakeboarding.
During my early 40's (about 3 years ago) my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer and was told she had 6 months to live. I packed up my bags, my office, and my dog, left my family (temporarily of course) and moved in with her for the duration of her life... this was the most meaningful, compelling, life changing experience EVER! Needless to say, and it's different for everyone, but it took it's toll both physically and mentally. I had no time to do ANY exercise during the final 2 months with my mom and my body went into some sort of shock. I gained 20 lbs very quickly, had no energy, no desire to exercise, drank more than I ever have… and wellah, here I am today!
I just started to get on my Mt. bike again and have been riding at least 2 days a week for the past 6 months, this has helped tremendously, more so for increasing my energy and spirits than any sort of weight loss. Precisely why I have joined up with P90X! It truly seems like the prefect answer for me and I am so excited to get started!

OK... I've just started week 4 today (day 43 since I started). I haven't really lost that much weight yet, started at 142 and am now 139/140 however, I can tell that I'm getting a bit more tone EVERYWHERE and have gone from 24.6% body fat to 22.8%. I also have a lot more energy, don't feel like eating as much for each meal, and I don't feel like having that glass of wine every night :)
Unfortunately I was sick for 9 of those 43 days, I had a REALLY REALLY bad flu, that kicked my butt! Starting to workout again after that was a bit slow however, it didn't take but 3 or 4 days to get back to were I left off. So if this happens to you... DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!
More to come...
