Hi! My name is Penny! I am a single/divorced mom of two big boys now Nick age 21 and Aaron age 23 and a grandma to 3 yr old grandson Aidan- so now I have plenty of time to devote to improving myself - something I haven't had as a top priority on my list of things to do.

I have been divorced/single for almost 11 years and during that time I dated some really nice guys, but I took care of them first and put myself last. I just recently ended a 3.5 year relationship with a really super nice guy who has a great love afair with the couch and the TV every night - that's just not the kind of lifestyle I want. I want to be fit and healthy and get out there and experience everything life has to offer - not watch someone else do it on TV!

I subconsciously inherited a poor self-image and self-esteem early on in life from my mother who battled being overweight all her life (the same 30#s. In high school I remember thinking I was overweight and my weight did fluctuate, but I was relatively active - working part-time as an assistant dance instructor (12 yrs of dance instruction) and I also ran two years of varsity track.
A year after high school I got married and shortly thereafter I had my first child and my second within two years of that. From that point on I put my children's needs first and my weight fluctuated like a roller coaster for the next 20+ years.

I am so tired of trying to hide my extra weight - who am I kidding anyway? I have been in denial, but I am ready to come clean and get my act together. The first big step was to pose for my before photo - wow pictures dont lie - but I think I have had a defective mirror.........

I am looking forward to help and encouragent from anyone that can undertand where I am coming from and help get me going in the right direction. I have been doing the Turbo Jam DVD's for about 5 weeks now so I am getting in shape, but not losing weight. I am trying to be patient and stay positive but some days it is harder than others?

Can anyone else relate to any of this at all? If so, I would love to hear from you. I will post my photo this evening when I can get a lttle assistance getting it online.
