Old injury at sea in my left knee required surgery removing 95% of the miniscus, cartilage. Basically bone on bone now. Two herniated discs in lower back, also at sea. Enlarged left side of my heart has decreased the volumeinside leaving an ejection fraction of mid 20's%. Serious wake up call. Wanted this program but knew i had to drop the weight first to avoid blowing out my knee or worse.And make it easier for my heart.Exercize regular but not heavy to build up to this. Long time waiting for me, just to get to this point. My biggest was 277lbs, cook on a ship in those days. Nobody trusts a skinny cook. Sitting in a chair i looked like a bullfrog with tits.Tieing my shoes would take my breath away. No kidding. My wife ( now an ex) made the comment one time " You are fat and dont work out, but you want a woman with a nice body."She went on a diet to make herself fat,intentionaly, but she had a point. Anyway, can tell you since dropping the weight chicks seem a whole lot friendlier. Balding middle age fat guy...... aint gonna happen. This isnt about meeting chicks,thats just a grin you keep to yourself. Its about a fat guy trying to fix what he can about his health. improve my heart, and ok , look good on a beach without doing that middle age guy on a beach walk, you know, sucking it in till thier neck disappear... And today....... with 3 smokes left, going to do this too. Cant do P90X if im still smoking. Left side of the heart needs to relax, that side, is the side for drawing oxygen into your system.Take this slow, taking my blood pressure, and heart rate before and after each workout. Common sence, if it hurts stop. Feeling a bit funny in your chest, stop. No pain no gian is not what this is about.Thatll come one day too, soon.Little by little, everyday. Do what i can, and i'm getting better than i was, everyday. Thats kind of where its at for all of us isnt it?
