I was a chubby child for a few years, then became active in sports in school and lost body fat. For many years I struggled with weight gain. My body understood a genetic weight in the 120’s…a thin athlete. Through proper nutrition and a very aggressive weight training regime, I entered into a world of body building, winning the All-Armed Forces Body Building Contest (bantam weight) while on I was a chubby child for a few years, then became active in sports in school and lost body fat. Through proper nutrition and a very aggressive weight training regime, I entered into a world of body building, winning the All-Armed Forces Body Building Contest (bantam weight) while on active duty in the Army. I hold a black belt in Chinese Kempo Karate, and served as an instructor. I am now taking Brazilian Capoeira.
My company, Prime Fitness specializes in various aspects of health and fitness, providing pain management, neuropsychological assessments, biofeedback, and individual, and family therapy in the Colorado Springs area.
I have performed with The Folk Dance Troupe of Toledo, Ohio showcasing dances from around the world. Together with my wife, Dorie, I teach dance & fitness classes throughout Colorado bringing the intensity of my background and expertise in health & fitness to my students. Together we partner in Springs Salsa & Dance Fitness to bring the best of salsa and dance fitness to Colorado.
I specialize in breaking down steps and patterns in an easy to understand and follow way. I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toledo in 1993, and specialized in neuropsychology and behavioral medicine in an adjunct program at the Medical College of Ohio.

After serious abdominal surgery, I was not able to workout for several months. I began weight training to recover strength and although I became stronger, I was still a thin 120 pounds. Through good nutrition and consistent cardio and weight training, I am now a very muscular 146 lbs. I have learned much about the human body, nutrition, exercise, rest and recovery.
