My Photos | rabmonk006 Bangor, ME Here's a little of my story - my names Jennie, I'm 24 years old and graduating college this summer. I weighed 135 in high school and never thought about my weight much. When I moved to college in 2003/2004 I gained 30 pounds and hated it.. I quickly lost all 30 lbs the wrong way, by starving myself - literally! I quickly lost all 30 lbs the wrong way, by starving myself - literally! Went right back to eating badly and after a couple of depressing years in a bad relationship ended up being 205 POUNDS!! Got down to 175-180 lbs quickly on my own (sometimes I used healthy means, sometimes I didn't eat enough) but stayed around this weight for another couple of years even when I tried the whole crash diet thing - ditched the guy - got a new one.. started the Medifast diet program (5 healthy meal replacements a day 2-3 hrs apart plus dinner of 5-7 oz lean protein and 3 servings of low carbohydrate veggies, very minimal condiments - staying under 100 carbs a day) 10/13/10 and am now 140 lbs (40 lbs and a total of 32 inches lost in 105 days! Started at size 14 - now am a size 6!) I went to the gym often in November - used the weight machines and did 20-30 minutes of cardio 3-4 days a week. My goal was 125 but I realized this might not be the best idea. Im 5'8.5" and 123 is the lowest healthy weight for my height. I have little to no muscle, my stomach is all flab and now also excess wrinkly skin from losing weight - but according to my scale I'm 21.7% body fat. I changed my goal weight to 135 which seems reasonable - it was the weight I always imagined myself being back to - thats only 5 pounds away! The main thing that influenced my decision to keep goal weight at 135 was reading this article. Something about it just really really hit home with me - it all makes sense to me and I must have read it three times in the past week. http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/10/07/being-fit-vs-being-skinny/ It's not necessarily a new idea - but I finally GET IT.. its finally SUNKEN IN I can't just LOSE WEIGHT - I have to really work on my body and get stronger, healthier, leaner, toned! Needless to say I am VERY determined and motivated! I really WANT to do P90X - but I know I'm not to that point yet. Tomorrow is the fourth day of P90 and my muscles are pretty sore so I know I need this first! I've been using 5 lbs weights - is this a good starting amount? Whats your opinion on 135 being my goal weight? Once I reach goal Im staying with the medifast program in that it has an 8 week transition period where you re-introduce things to your diet slowly. First week you add a little more vegetable, next week 1 serving of whole wheat grain, next week 1 serving of low fat sugar free dairy, next week 1 serving of fruit, and so on. Then maintence aka THE REST OF MY LIFE will be eating in this same style, small meals 2-3 hours apart, lean protein, fruits, veg, etc. My Progress My fitness goal: Build Muscle Transformation story
