I grew up in Los Angeles, California as a chubby kid and an overweight teenager. In my mid 20's, I discovered BeachBody and began to workout on a regular basis. Dropping the excess pounds and getting fit was just what I needed. Within 6 months, I had lost over 50lbs and was in the best shape of my life. I finished college went overseas and began my career in teaching. Two years ago, I met the man

A bag of cookies, pancakes, and milk; that was my breakfast for over 20 years. Like most Americans, I grew up as a fast-food child, never touching a vegetable of any sort and not knowing the meaning of being active. My parents were great, but unfortunately, they never placed much significance on healthy eating habits or fitness goals; they always believed that I would eventually grow out of my chubby childhood body.
By the time I was 12, I was 5’7, and I had reached 180lbs. I was the youngest but “biggest” kid in my class. I remember coming home crying almost every night because of some joke a kid made in class. The kids were cruel, and there was nothing I could do about it but hide in the bathrooms all day long.
As a teen, I continued to eat foods that were harming my body. My daily diet consisted of pure junk, and I would spend my days slouched on the couch; I would catch a cold or the flu nearly every week, and it would just take forever for me to get over it. My cholesterol level was over 300. I was only a teenager, but my body was trying to tell me something; however, I was just ignore all the messages.
It wasn’t only my health that was suffering; being overweight had taken a huge toll on my self-confidence. I wanted to be fit, but I just couldn't commit to any real lifestyle changes. While all my friends began dating, I stayed at home every single day. For senior prom, I had no date, and I wasn’t shocked. I hated my body; I hated myself. The more I hated my body, the more I ate. It was a vicious cycle and by senior year, I was already 200lbs.
I finally decided that I had to do something. I could not afford a trainer or nutritionist, I had a limited college student budget, but I was determined to lose the weight. I started searching the web for articles and information. I knew I needed to get active and that diet alone would not suffice. I wanted to join a gym, but going to a gym seemed quite intimidating, so I decided to set out and try some exercise videos I could do at home. I had heard great things about Beach body, so I ordered P90. Once I started the program, the pounds began melting away. Within a few weeks, I had lost over 10lbs. However, I was not going to stop there. I was too motivated to give up. I continued with the program and in the end, I was below my goal weight. For the first time in my life, I had seen the scale read 145lbs!
Instantly, my life began to change. My self-confidence was soaring and that just seemed to affect every aspect of my life. I had always wanted to teach English overseas, but I never had the courage to do it. After starting NS, I knew that nothing was impossible anymore. I contacted a few schools and got an amazing job teaching English in Istanbul. I was able to travel, pay my bills, and live an amazing year abroad. I had learned portion control and was able to effectively apply the NS plan wherever I was. No longer was I the fat kid or the chubby teen. I had turned into the most beautiful and self-confident woman around.
People around me could not believe the transition I went through. My old friends couldn’t recognize me. It wasn’t just the weight that had changed. I had changed for the better. Knowing that I could reach my goals made me want to pursue a better life.Just a few months ago,I got married in a size eight wedding dress. My husband has been very supportive of my current maintenance plan. We work out together every night on P90x, cook healthy meals, and compete with one and other on whose got the million dollar body!
