Old Hickory, TN Hi my name is Mike Arsenault and I am 35 years old and I have struggled with my weight all my life. I remember growing up and walking out of water in Maine and my grandfather yelling after I got out "the water just went down 10 inches". Although I have a lot of self confidence, I still avoided taking my shirt off and would purposely avoid work events on the fear I may be asked to play a Hi my name is Mike Arsenault and I am 35 years old and I have struggled with my weight all my life. I remember growing up and walking out of water in Maine and my grandfather yelling after I got out "the water just went down 10 inches". Although I have a lot of self confidence, I still avoided taking my shirt off and would purposely avoid work events on the fear I may be asked to play a game (football, kickball etc) and then I would be on the "skins" team meaning I would have to take my shirt off.
My moment of truth came in November of 2010 when I thought I was going to have a heart attack one night..I was out of breath, sweating, and just thought I was going to die, and I was just laying there. Like a smoker that had just had enough, I woke up the next morning and said..I am tired if this and I am going to change.
My wife had the Power 90 DVDs, so without telling her I started doing the program, I only did it 5 days a week and did not manage what I was eating, but I still lost about 10 lbs the first 30 days and decided to move to Power 90 Level 2 where I lost another 10 pounds. All in secrecy from my wife because I was to embarrassed of what I was trying to do..Plus what if I failed…
While I was doing this (in secret) someone at work who was much bigger then I, had lost most of his body fat and started building muscles and I was amazed at his transformation, after talking with him about it he told me he was dong P90X...
Over the next several weeks I could not help but think of his results, I would go back to his facebook page and look at his before and after pictures...Then one day I was watching the commercial with my wife and I told her I wanted to get it, I finally told her I had been doing the Power 90 for almost 2.5 months and I was feeling good about myself. I showed her the pictures of the guy at and how much weight he had lost and the decision was made…On one condition..She was going to do it with me. I was really excited about this as she is already a slender person, so her working out will help keep me motivated, plus she will help make sure I eat right since she does the groceries…
We order P90X on a Sunday and it came in that Thursday. That night we read the P0X book, read most of the nutrition book and decided this was for us. That Saturday we bought heart monitors, some healthy foods and started that Monday with the Lean program and haven’t looked back since.
I have to say I drank the coolaide and I am excited about the taste. I monitor my calorie intake at every meal, insure I am eating the correct foods, and constantly read the threads on wowy.com to help keep me motivated..
I am excited to get through my first round of P90X and start round 2 and for the first time this summer take my shirt off at the pool and not have people turn away... I know, the more people I can help get healthier, the more motivated I will be to keep pressing play…
Well it is April 25th, 2011 and I finished my first round of P90X on Saturday, total lost almost 40 pounds and almost 16" lost across my entire body...
Insanity started today, 59 more days to go with this challenge...

Started 2 week of Nov, 2010 with P90 1-2, moved to 3-4 middle of Dec now moving to P90X on the 24th of Jan, 2011. Tomorrow will make 3 weeks and the end of phase one. Although I have not lost "scale" weight I know I have lost inches and gained muscle. My shirt arms are tighter around the biceps and my pant are looser. If this is what 30 days have brought I cannot wait to see what the next 30 days will bring.
Well Day 90 is over and I am officially a P90X graduate. Over all I have dropped almost 40 lbs and have lost almost 16" total across my body, I lost fat in areas I did not even knew I had fat..Believe it or not I went down in shoe sizes as well from a 10 to a 9.5 because I lost fat in my feet...Amazing..Today I started my 60 day Insanity Challenge and day one, although it was the fitness test was simply awesome!!! I have not update this for some time, but I have since finished Insanity, Aslyum and Turbo Fire. I will starting on Monday my second round of P90X preparing for P90X2. Health wise I feel great and I have dropped 6 pant sizes in less than a year..Thank You BeachBody and all your programs and Shakology!
