Hello, my name is Reaf Thompson and Beachbody changed my life!! I used to be in excellent shape but I let my fitness and nutrition go in 2004. I had always been active in sports but eating clean and at the right time was always my downfall. You know the story.. fast food, bad snacks, eating and then sleeping etc.. I got to a point where all hope was lost and I pretty much excepted how I looked and felt at the time. I always tried to eat right and workout but when you don't have a clue you are basically just spinning your wheels over and over again with no real plan of action. As a kid I was always active, I played pretty much every sport. In high school I played football, as a young adult I was addicted to the basketball court and running. I stayed active until I hit 35 and from there I just stopped exercising. Like many people back then I became addicted to the internet and ran all my business from a desk. I wasn't active at all and it showed BIG TIME. One day I just decided to commit to making a change with my health. I wanted to go back to being the guy who could outrun the youngsters on the basketball court.

When I first saw Beachbody infomercials for programs like Hip Hop Abs and P90X I laughed and mocked them like it was just another company with a gimmick product trying to take advantage of people and their weight issues. But P90X kept coming on TV all the time and each time I found myself watching it, it was then that I said.... this must be happening for a reason! The personal stories just stuck with me even when I wasn't watching it. One day about 2:00 am, I was working on my computer and P90X came on again. This time I wrote the information down a index card and sat it next to my computer, it sat there for A YEAR! One day in 2008 I was at the beach with my family.. just a normal day with the kids. My three year old at the time noticed that I was breathing heavy after chasing her in the sand. She asked me this which is incredible for a 3 year old to say.. She asked if I was tired because I was fat and is that why I said let's take a break!! That really crushed me to hear that and really I got really mad at myself. That day I went home and dusted off that index card and called the number on it. I told them I wanted IT ALL. The program, the supplements, the equipment.. THE WORKS!! Maybe I was trying to punish myself but something had to change.

I started P90X on August 1oth 2008, my fathers birthday. I was supposed to do it on my birthday exactly a week earlier (8/3/2008) but when P90X arrived I stared at it for a week afraid, nervous and unsure of myself. At that time I weighed 230 pounds and I couldn't walk around the corner without breathing heavy after just 2 minutes. The first day I did P90X was extremely challenging and I struggled with cardio a lot but a funny thing happened, that struggle pissed me off, I couldn't believe how out of shape I was. The next day I took my before pictures and they added to my anger. When I looked at them I felt ashamed not for the person I am but how I let myself go. It was like looking at another person all together and I didn't want anyone to see them. After a couple weeks I joined as a member of Team Beachbody. I started to see other people sharing their pictures, struggles, triumphs and everything that applied to their journey. Up until that time I still felt alone in all this but when I became a member all that went away because I was able to share accountability with others. I was amazed at how many people (members) really cared about my mortality, my family and being my friend. Each day I would share my journey with them, they would share their journey and we cheered one another on, that changed my life in a way I never imagined. No longer was I in this alone, no longer did I have to spin my wheels, no longer did I have stress over not knowing exactly what to do to make the necessary lifestyle change that was needed. I finally had a plan!!

After about 2 weeks after I started doing P90X I noticed results. I remember looking in the mirror and seeing my body change ever so slightly at day 12. In the first month I lost 17 lbs and I was blown away. I did not expect to lose that much weight in a month and I started to fit into clothes that I had not worn in years, even my eye glasses seemed bigger. I also noticed that I had much more energy and that I was no longer craving bad food choices like I used to in the past. One of my family members could not believe how I looked just 30 days earlier neither could my kids. By day 60 I really could see definition and muscle tone where it had never been there before. I could see changes in my legs and chest areas which had always been the parts of my body with the least muscle mass. I'm a naturally thin person and all the weight I gained was mainly in my mid section, face and neck. Day 60 was a real eye opener and I got even more excited about pressing play because of how much my body had already changed.

On day 90 I actually took time to examine my entire body by comparing my after pictures to old pictures and old video of me (when I say old I mean within the last 6 months in 2008) and it was insane how much I had changed. I lost 39 lbs within in 90 days and for me that's a lot, none of my clothes from before fit anymore and I got to go shopping for new ones which was really nice. I'm so proud of myself for completing the journey for 90 days because it was well worth it to me and my family. In August of this year it will be my 3 year P90X Transformation mark and I must say it's been the best years of my life fitness and health wise.

Today I am happy to say that thanks to P90X and the support I have received from Beachbody, I am in the best shape of my life both physically and financially. I have energy like I did in my 20's and there is no stopping what's to come. I want to thank everyone at Team Beachbody and all the people on the message boards including my personal support coach Socrates Zayas and his support coach Joseph Petri. If it where not for those people helping me stay accountable I would still be lost. I will continue to pay forward what has been done for me countless times as a Beachbody Support Coach. If I can help one person each day for the rest of my life, I will die a happy and satisfied man. I believe everyone can change for the better and I will be there when they are ready to do so. Beachbody has not only changed my life but allowed me to help many other people that need it, for that I am internally greatfull and honored to be associated with a such a fine and respected company. Together we will change the world and end Obesity one person at a time!
