Kugluktuk, NU My name is Stephanie. I am a 35 year old mother of twin toddlers. I teach full time in a very remote Arctic community of Northern Canada. I have always struggled with my weight. I've had some success in the past but never stuck to it. However, I've had enough failures to know what works and what doesn't for my body. However, I've had enough failures to know what works and what doesn't for my body. When my babies turned two this past Spring, I vowed to get the weight off and keep it off. I want to be the best role model that I can for my children and teaching them that it is okay to be overweight and unhealthy isn't what my husband and I want! So, on June 1st, 2009, weighing in at 213lbs (I'd lost 20 pounds over the previous year) I began my transformation. I decided to keep it simple. I count my calories...I eat 2000 balanced calories a day, take my vitamins, and I work out for one hour a day, six days a week. I had used several Beach Body products in the past but none worked as well for me as Slim in 6. I've had all the dvds for years including her Slim Series but never stuck to them. I'd never even finished the 6 weeks...as soon as I saw results, I slacked!
This time things were different. I made the choice every time I woke up in the morning that I had to work out. I never take it for granted. I make that same groggy choice every day. Now, almost 3 months later, I have lost 23 lbs. My goal is 73 lbs total. I aim to lose 1-1.5 lbs per week. So far, that's my average. This is the longest I've gone in any type of healthy type of lifestyle. But I can continue because it works with my life. This isn't a diet or fad...this is my new way of living and I love it! I have way more energy and strength to play with my girls and I am in a happy, balanced mood almost all the time!
