I have been a professional singer since June of 1984. Being on stage in front of hundreds of people throughout the year is loads of fun… but not when you are fat. The pressure of delivering a great performance is compounded when you think everyone is staring at you, not because you are the singer, and focal point, but because you are so heavy. That had to come to an end.
I had purchased Turbo Jam several years ago, and while they looked lovely on my bookshelf, I doubt that’s the intention Chalene Johnson had for her workouts when she created them. In February of 2009, I decided to blow the dust off of them and push “PLAY >”. At 45, 5’1”, and 183 pounds… it was the BEST thing I had ever done for myself.
I started out getting winded just shortly after the warm up, but I kept going! Eventually, I was getting through the whole workout, low impact, but feeling sweaty, and GREAT! About 3 weeks into Turbo Jam, I added the weighted gloves. I was getting through most of the workouts, but usually had to take them off before the turbo. I kept going. Eventually, I was able to use the gloves throughout the whole workout.
By March 22nd, I had been Turbo Jamming for more than a month, and I had gone from a size 14/16 to a size 10!!! From 183, to 158… down 25 POUNDS!!! My friend gave me ChaLean Extreme. I decided to add that program to my Turbo Jam workouts. At this point, I had been following Chalene’s eating regimen, I was strong, and getting through the workouts at high impact, and the weight, and inches were melting off of me. This was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I added the Chalean Extreme starting in a size 10 at 158 on March 25th. After 3 month’s of doing 5 Turbo Jams per week, and 3 Chalean Extreme circuits per week, I went from 158 (size 10) to 134 and a size 4. I had never been a size 4 in my life. I owe everything to Chalene’s motivation, the Team Beachbody website, the support of my friends, and family, and most of all, to myself, for getting up everyday, and pushing “PLAY>”. The workouts were NEVER boring. Turbo Jams are fun, they move, they are funky, and I WANT to do them. I can’t say the same about the other forms of workouts I have done in the past.
In continuing my fitness journey, I became a certified fitness professional, teaching Turbo Kick, Hustle and PiYo, and also Hot Hula, and Yoga Fit. I am also an AFAA certified group fitness instructor.

I decided in February to recommit to exercising. I loved Turbo Jam, so I started with that. A friend bought me the Chalean Extreme workout, and I started that in March. Since restarting TJ and using Chalean Extreme, I have lost 49 pounds, and went from a size 14/16 to a size 4/6.

05/03/11 Ha! Started, but I had too many days with too many workouts in it, so... I did a restart on the first with the Fit Test.
Today was strength, and tomorrow is Back to Core.
So far so good... More ... 04/19/11 Decided to restart The Asylum on Friday to do it with friends. Today was my Pole dance class... loving it! What a great addition to my regular workout schedule. I am hitting muscle More ... 04/18/11
