Littleton, CO It's May 23rd, 2011, and today was day 51 for me. Today is my first visit to beachbody.com
I'm 43 years old, and live in the Denver area. I live the dual-life of working in corporate America, as well as a musician. Up until my mid 30s, I was always atheletic. I'm 43 years old, and live in the Denver area. I live the dual-life of working in corporate America, as well as a musician. Up until my mid 30s, I was always atheletic. Since then, I've been on and off (mostly off during the last couple of years). Playing music has kept me from being 25 lbs overweight, so I've been holding steady on needing to lose about 15 lbs!
I think my focus has changed more to monitoring my physical appearance, as opposed to weight loss or gain. My thought is, it will come, if I stick to the program. I'm not weighing myself very often. I stopped doing that after 2 weeks. I think I lost about 7-8 lbs in the first month, and I'm still hovering around there. I've noticed changes over my entire body, however, the abs seem to take a bit longer! Some pants are much looser now.
Diet has been a bit of an issue with me. I love to eat! My 5-yr old son seems to add complication in my quest for a semi-regular eating regiment (at least, that is one of my excuses). My problem isn't so much that I'm eating unhealthy foods (tiny breakdowns here or there). It's simply calories. I'd like to get insight from other users who might find themselves in similar situations. Diet planning is difficult for me, with my schedule.
One of the problems I find, is that I'm gaining muscle (not really a problem, i guess!), which weighs more than fat. So, as I look at the scale once in a while, and see that I'm not losing much at my current stage, I have to remember that there is more muscle now. I almost wish I had worked harder on the weight loss first, but, I'm happy with the tone that's coming.
