I was born with a mesomorph body, so I’m kinda a freak by nature. In my
twenties, I ate and drank everything in sight and never gained any weight. I've
always had a very lean body, a 6-pack, and have never been over 10% body
fat. I'm just lucky! People always thought I spent hours in the gym, but I never went to the gym or lifted weights; it bored me. I finally
started strength training when I turned 35 and do one total body session a
week during my race season and once or twice a week during the winter
months. When I turned 30, I realized I really enjoy exercise outdoors and
have been doing some sort of activity ever since. I have raced motocross,
mountain bikes, and now triathlons. Some of my recreational activies have
included skiing, waterskiing, hiking, volleyball, soccer, canoeing, rowing, camping,
windsurfing, etc...
I also have good eating habits now, and have been teased frequently at work
about my “rabbit food” (vegetable/fruits) that I snack on all day. But, I do
have a weakness for certain junk foods (chocolate/sweets) that I splurge on
from time to time. I try not to buy it or it’ll be gone within a day or two.
For the past twenty years or so I have always drank one can of Mountain Dew
a day; I figured there’s nothing wrong with having one vice. I’m now on a
nonHFCS (high fructose corn syrup) diet, and trying to cut it out of my diet by
always reading the labels. For the past two years, I’ve been Mountain Dew free.
I was introduced to P90X and I’m doing parts of it with my wife
as cross training along with all my swimming, cycling, and running. This is a great program and I know anyone that commits to the 90 days will see results! I've also done P90X+ and ChaLEAN.
