Hello everybody, my name is Ron Spinner. I finished my very first round of P90X at the end of August, 2009, and oh what a ride it was! I then moved onto P90X+ and finished that in November, 2009. I am currently doing a 12 Week Hybrid program I put together with various workouts from P90X, P90X+, Insanity, and Tony Horton's One on One workouts.

For most of my life I have been fairly active and involved in sports and/or various exercises. Like many others, as I began to grow older my level of exercise slowly decreased and my Body Fat slowly increased. During the many years that I have spent lifting weights, dieting, and trying to get back into shape, I have noticed that I have not really been consistent for much longer than 1-2 months with any workout regimen I was doing. I was successful in Body Fat reduction and muscle gain in the short term, but things always grew stagnant and improvements eventually slowed to a snails pace, both of which contributed to my loss of interest and long term commitment to any fitness plan. I think some of that can be attributed to my ignorance of changing routines and some can be attributed to stubbornness. That, coupled with the fact that I was like many others in that I wanted instant gratification with results and was never able to stay focused on a fitness goal for the long term. Any goal that was going to take longer than 4-6 weeks to achieve was literally guaranteed to be unreachable because I would lose interest eventually and would not do what it took to break through plateau barriers and be able to proceed to the next level. Over the last couple years, I started to reach probably the worst physical condition of my life and my weight reached nearly 220lbs with my Body Fat approaching 27%. My diet was absolutely terrible…..I would eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Lots of pizza, hot wings, sugar filled snacks, beer, cheese, etc…

I had seen the ads on TV many times about the P90X program and like many others I was very skeptical that a DVD home program could work, and I was egotistical enough to think that I knew more than they did and there was no way any silly DVD program could match my knowledge of lifting weights, etc…. Its almost comical looking back, the way my thought process was working and my never ending resistance to any type of change, even though every single time I tried to reach a fitness goal that required long term commitment had failed. Then one day when I was perusing through the message board of a Texas Longhorn football site I belong too, I noticed several threads about P90X popping up all over the place. I started to read them and was amazed at the progress that was being made……progress by real people that lived right here in the same city as me! That then prompted me to dive into research of P90X myself, and I scoured the internet and read as much as I could on the program. To be quite frank and honest, it didn’t take very long to become fully addicted to reading all the success stories and learning more and more about all the programs Beach Body had to offer. I then pulled the trigger and ordered the P90X program and purchased all the necessary equipment to complete it (552 Select Tech Dumbbells, Pull Up bar, Push Up stands, Heart Rate Monitor, and Yoga Mat). When it finally arrived in the mail I was extremely fired up to get started and dove right in the next day (I performed the fit test the evening before, and recorded all my “pre” measurements). After workout #1 I quickly became aware that this program was for real and was going to take some serious focus. The diet portion of the program was very detailed and I chose not to follow it exactly, but very closely. My diet amazingly is almost identical to the Phase I portion of the P90X program, and literally 99% of the foods I eat are on Tier 1 and Tier 2 of Michi's ladder.

I finished my very first round of P90X on 8/29/09.. I started out at 210.6lbs and 22% Body Fat and after 90 days finished at 181.2 lbs and 7.5% Body fat. Since that time I have completed P90X+ and also many workouts from Insanity and Tony Horton's One on One Series. I am currently doing a hybrid program of various workouts from P90X, P90X+, Insanity, and TH's One on One's. My current numbers as of (3/7/10) are: 185.0 lbs and 6.2% Body Fat. I cannot begin to explain the level of motivation that Tony and the crew (the kids) have on me and the ability to transcend my focus into not only long term goals but a new way of life! I cannot wait to push play every single day, and the improvements and results toward my goals are consistently moving forward. By following the simple guidance in the program (P90X), I was fortunate enough to win to the September-2009 $1000 Success Story contest for my age group. So not only is Beachbody positively affecting my overall health and fitness, but my financial future as well! I would love to hear from you and if you happen to have questions or need guidance with your workouts or nutrition, please do not hesitate to contact me! I can be reached at Rspin312@beachbodycoach.com. I look forward to helping you reach ALL of your health and fitness goals!
