I am a 46-year-old preacher. In high school I was a swimmer. I worked on a farm out of high school and later worked as a carpenter. I was always active. After 20 plus years in ministry, my life has become more sedentary. I still love to snow ski and water ski. However, those activities had nearly become too difficult. It is hard to have fun when you can't catch your breath.
I have two teenage children and want to be active with them. My wife and I make a lot of volleyball games and football games watching our children. I am the stadium announcer for the local high school football team. I am also quickly getting into the best shape of my life.

At my heaviest, I was at about 215 pounds. I am 5' 9". My journey began as I tried eating a little better and lost some weight. I started P90X on June 8th, 2009 weighing 207. It was not the best time for me to start. Summers are busy. After day five, I left to work at a high school camp for a week. I got one workout in that week. I was then home for 5 days and then left for Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Now that was a great trip. However, I didn't stay on the diet and only got in one workout. I gained three pounds on that trip. So, two and a half weeks into my program, I had made very little progress. I then got serious about the eating plan. However, I was still a little hit and miss in my workouts. I then renewed my commitment. I have lost 30 pounds in 90 days. I have lost over 5.5 inches in my waist, 3 inches in my hips and 2 inches in my chest. My body fat went from 30.77% to 15.95% according to the Parrillo Caliper Method. I took a long layoff and didn't start my new round of P90X until the end a January 2010. My new goal is single digit body fat. I want to be in the best shape of my life by then end of this summer. I am a work in progress. I have made mistakes. I have had some setbacks.
