Nothing quite gets your attention like the brutal honesty of a 4 year old. After being asked quite innoncently a few times about when I was going to have my baby, and being lovingly referred to as "big belly daddy", I knew it was time for a change. I embraced the motto, "Crawl, Walk, Run". I altered my diet and began walking in the evenings. The weight started to come off slowly. I started to jog regularly and go to the gym 5 times a week. I used the couch to 5 K program to get in better running condition. Logging my daily food intake and activities helped me increase my weight loss to approximately 1 lb per week and stay that way for several months. Then, I hit a wall. The dreaded plateau you've heard about. I did some research and I decided with about 25 pounds to go, it is time to really get up and run and do some muscle confusion. I tried some of the exercise routines in P90X and I really liked the routine - and I broke through the plateau and started losing again after a month of stagnation. I am so pleased with the results I became a Team Beachbody Coach. I feel better, my wife loves my healthier look, and I'm no longer "big belly daddy". Life is good. As soon as my mountain bike is ready, I'll be hitting the road doing that too and I am still running.
