I am a high school teacher who used to be thin in high school. It wasn't until my first marriage and a high stress level (with poor management skills) that I started to gain weight. I am now happily remarried with three wonderful kids and ready to improve my own health.

I am just getting started. On January 1st I started running / fast-walking about 2 miles each day. I am getting up early before work so that I can work two jobs. It is still a struggle to get up so More ...
I am just getting started. On January 1st I started running / fast-walking about 2 miles each day. I am getting up early before work so that I can work two jobs. It is still a struggle to get up so early, but my husband is very encouraging. He and I both hope to lose around 100 pounds combined in the long term. It might take a year, but I'm determined to lose weight this time. *Update: I have walked over 33 miles this month! I haven't done that since middle school track. I have lost 9 1/4 pounds. *Update: I stopped walking regularly and have gained back most of my weight. It really does make a difference, and I want to do better starting now.
