I am a 35-year old male, and have lost touch with the gym, and exercising in general, over the past ten years. In my my early twenties, I lived at the gym and was in excellent shape. After I passed age 25, I broke up with the gym, and have had sporadic flings with it since then (most of which have never lasted more than a month or two).

I have always had an affinity for exercising and, in particular, resistance training with weights. Even when I was in the best shape of my life around age 23, I never really had a six-pack. I always had big muscles and a very toned body, but my abdominals and core were always neglected. When a friend of mine recommended P90X to me last year, I recalled the informercials I had seen, and I thought in the back of my head, "I'm going to do that program someday". I had actually tried the EAS "Body for Life" challenge three years ago and had excellent results in the six weeks I managed to get through (it, also, is a 90-day program). But I never finished the program and that's haunted me ever since.

So that brings me to right here right now. I recently obtained P90X and have since been preparing, both mentally and physically, for the tough road which lies ahead. I am looking forward to getting lots of support from the forums and coaches here on Team Beachbody, once I start my program on January 10, 2010! I've got my mat, my Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells, my pull-up bar, my heart-rate monitor, my body fat caliper, my tape measure, and am now working on getting all my supplements and nutrition in place for when the race begins!

Ultimately, I envision P90X as a tremendous tool that is reconnecting me with my former, more active self. Only this time I want my six-pack abs! I can see myself integrating the P90X, or other Beachbody workouts, into my ongoing fitness agenda for many years to come. If nothing else, I sincerely hope completion of this program puts me back in touch with a healthier, more active lifestyle - one which remains a part of my life forever!
