I would hope that I can say that I live my life by faith. We all struggle and fall, and that is why it is incredible to have faith in Jesus, who makes all that garbage go away. I learn more everyday about my own personal walk with Him, and hope that as I do, I can share with other the Good News!

So, I am merely a servant...

April 2007
I have used the program called "Six Week Body Makeover" by Michael Thurmond and it helped me lose about 60 lbs to 190ish. I had a recent injury that left me on the shelf for a while, sitting around. (I hated it!) I am just up over 200 lbs, and decided to tinker with my diet a little bit. I changed my diet to what is considered "eating clean" and added such things as dairy and whey powder back into my diet. I always have been able to exercise, what with coaching and being involved in a basketball league once a week and regular trips over to the gym.

I'd like to use P90X to tip me over the edge and give me that final push to get the results that I desire. I'd like to continue to lose weight, but more importantly get my body fat percentage down (through my dieting phase it went from 27% to 17%... don't know what it is at now) to a respectable number and really just be PROUD about the way I look. I had always known that I had it in me, and that people like me for who I am on the inside, but it really comes down to a personal satisfaction with my appearance and how I feel.

Edit: August 2007
It's amazing to me to think of the journey I've been on and continue to tread. My senior year of college, I had a Health class and got my body fat percentage measured at 27% (as noted above). My first year out of college I was pushing 250 lbs. I was not very happy or satisfied with my appearance or overall satisfaction with me for me! Its been a trek since November of 2005 but I'm almost 2 years from then and a world of change has taken place. I'm just starting my second round of P90X and have a nifty new scale that gives my weight, body fat percentage, and other nice luxuries that I've never had done before (muscle mass weight, visceral weight, calories to maintain current weight, etc). Anyways, I am currently at about 13% body fat percentage! In just under two years I've cut my body fat in half! I have the next three months in P90X to continue to get that number down for the full two year report. No matter what sort of obstacles have been in my way (my schedule, injuries, confidence struggles, etc), I continue to keep my overall goal in mind and think long term... I cannot now back down and go back to the way I used to be - I can't even imagine it. Sometimes I surprise myself with the things I talk about and way I act... turning down sweets and salty snacks, opting for water rather than alcohol or another adult beverage when out with friends, and getting consulted by the customer service guy at Vitamin World (and know what I'm saying!)or actually giving people advice about nutrition and healthy-lifestyle-living.

Here's to the journey...
