Update-- June, 2011 I just trained and dieted for my first bikini competition! It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I had awesome results! I was down to 116 pounds, and my body was feeling tight and toned. I competed against girls half my age, since it was only divided by height classes and not age. I didn't place, but I was very proud of myself for finishing my journey! I have learned so much about diet and nutrition, and I am passionate about helping others!

Since December 18, 2008, I have lost almost 30 pounds! I didn't really know I had 20 pounds to lose. I've always been pretty slim, but every winter my jeans start getting tight again. Then in 2008, I fell and dislocated my shoulder very badly. That happened on November 6th, I was in a sling for 4 weeks, and then 4 months of physical therapy after that. As soon as I was out of the sling, I hadn't worked out in a while, but I started doing lower body emphasis workouts. I couldn't even raise my arms to stretch, do a wheel, or anything! I gradually worked through the extreme pain to build my strength, and was able to start doing pushups again! It was really scary at first, but my physical therapists were very impressed with my progress. I started Chalean Extreme about a month before I stopped therapy, and was able to do all the weight lifting without pain. I don't think I would have had such a good recovery and getting my strength back if I hadn't been working out on my own.

So I've worked through adversity and pain, and achieved the best results I've ever had with a Beachbody program!

The very easiest way I've found to keep your calories in check is to have five 300 calorie meals a day, balanced in protein, carbs and fat. I use the www.fitday.com program, it has a pie chart. More ...
