I live an extremely blessed yet busy life. I am a 38 year old pastor's wife, mother of a brilliant five year old daughter, sales representative, minister, Beachbody Coach and personal cheerleader to anyone who wants to change their lives. It is far better to impart change into your own life instead of the world and life's circumstances imparting change upon you.

Like many busy mothers and wives, I fondly remember the days of high school athletics where I participated in volleyball, basketball, track, was captain of the drill team and in my best shape ever. During that time, I averaged about 145 lbs. At 5'6" I put on and took off the proverbial "freshman 15" throughout my time at the University of Texas. Once I joined the ranks of professional women, I gained a few pounds here and there each year.
When I met my husband, in March 2004, I weighed 180 pounds and that was after I shed over 20 pounds on a 40 day liquid fast. (The fast was spiritually led and not an attempt to lose weight.) After my husband and I married in July 2004 (when you know God has sent your help mate, you don't have to wait around!), we got pregnant a month later in August. By the time I got pregnant, my weight had increased to 195 pounds. My husband says it was "happy" weight because my life was so blessed.
My top pregnancy weight was 232 most of which did not come on until the 7 month. At my 6 week postpartum appointment in June 2005, I was already back down to 210 pounds. But it went all downhill from there. I got back on birth control pills and all of a sudden my weight was out of control. After a steady climb in weight because of hormones, inactivity, many failed "diet" attempts, and complete frustration and disgust, I topped the scales at my heaviest weight of 284 pounds in December of 2007.
I had failed on Nutrisystem, Atkins, South Beach, Body for Life, Abs Diet, and a host of exercise videos because I never had what I felt was a comprehensive program with accountability. I was disgusted with my body, despised the fact that I was wearing a size 22W, and was humiliated when I had to ask for a seatbelt extender when flying. My husband has always been my biggest cheerleader and continuously told me I was the most beautiful woman in the world and he loved me just the same whether I was 140 or 400 pounds.
Beachbody has been an invaluable part of my weight loss, toning, and accountability. I have been using Slim in 6 since early 2008 (it collected dust in my entertainment center for over a year before I took it out). The workouts are challenging yet achievable and I really see a difference in my body. WOWY is a great accountability and motivational tool because I can see other like minded women who don't necessarily want to work out but have committed to living a healthy lifestyle. Finally, the online menus and recipes provided by Beachbody have allowed me to more easily adjust and commit to my healthy eating lifestyle.
Today, I am working towards reaching my maintenance weight of 160 pounds and as of February 2009 I am wearing a size 10. I use the customized meal plans, message forums, WOWY, and I am starting additional Beachbody exercise programs. Beachbody has helped make my fitness health simpler and more attainable in a life that is jam packed with family, work, church, and community activities.
