Las Vegas, NV I am 41 years old and am working toward my 19th year as a Las Vegas Police Officer. I am married and have 5 sons. I am looking to get into better shape and live a healthier life! I have really struggled with my weight over the last 10 years or so. It's been sort of a yo-yo effect. I gain weight...I work out and lose weight...I get hurt while doing a workout program I create myself....I stop I am 41 years old and am working toward my 19th year as a Las Vegas Police Officer. I am married and have 5 sons. I am looking to get into better shape and live a healthier life! I have really struggled with my weight over the last 10 years or so. It's been sort of a yo-yo effect. I gain weight...I work out and lose weight...I get hurt while doing a workout program I create myself....I stop working out due to being hurt and then start the cycle all over again a year later. I found "Turbo Jam" 3 years ago and LOVED it. The workout is awesome! It is a great punch/kick boxing type cardio program which makes me, being a male, enjoy this type of cardio program. So men, don't be afraid to join the ladies in this one. It can be done all out or modified to what you are capable of doing at your current fitness level. You will get stronger as you go thru the program. I LOVE music and feel it is a great motivator to get me thru working out. The music in "Turbo Jam" is exactly what I LOVE and helps to make me come back for more each and every day! I then completed the 90 day "Chalean Extreme" last year which I also LOVED and made huge strides toward lost weight, bigger muscles and definition and better health. It is a weight training mixed with cardio program. I also improved my balance and coordination by doing this program! It was exactly what I was looking for to go to my next level in fitness. As had always happened in my past though, I started with the program but then pushed myself by combining my own side workouts with it...got hurt..cycle continued! I also did "Hip Hop Abs" last year and enjoyed it as well. Great music and a cardio workout I enjoyed doing. I have returned with a new "fire" and dedication for 2010 and decided this time to use the workout programs thru Beachbody EXCLUSIVELY without any of my own thoughts and or personal workouts on the side. They have done the science and planned out the workouts as they should be done so who am I to question them or add to them!?!? I have actually gained back all of the weight I lost before and then some! It's my own fault, I did it to myself which has given me more motivation to get it off and keep it off this time. I have decided to commit myself this time with only one option which is to succeed. I WILL attain my goals. After turning 40, it's like my body changed. All of a sudden I am coming up with health problems I never thought I would ever get. Being physically fit and watching my diet will carry thru for the rest of my life. My motivation went from wanting to look good in a bathing suit to now NEEDING to do this so I can live a longer life and be able to make it to my retirement years and truly enjoy them! I am going to start with my 1st love, "Turbo Jam". I will then take my new found "fire" and complete 90 days with "Turbo Fire" as soon as it is released in June 2010. I will post a link on my blog so you can check it out. I cannot wait to get started on this one! I have decided to stick with only cardio for now to achieve my main goal of losing weight. Cardio does so much for your body to get you physically fit with weight loss, strengthening muscles and building your endurance. Chalene Johnson which is the creator of all the "Turbo Jam" and soon to be "Turbo Fire" programs as well as the "Chalean Extreme" program is the greatest motivational trainer I have ever had the pleasure of working out with. Ok, so maybe it isn't always a "pleasure" working out when your in the middle of the workout, but the feeling I have after completing a workout is unreal! Exercise truly is a mood regulator. I feel so much better thruout the day on the days I complete a workout compared to the days I don't. Honestly, I really do look forward to most of my days of working out and enjoy pushing myself while in the workout. After "Turbo Fire" I will then do 90 days with a hybrid program of "Chalean Extreme" and "Turbo Fire". By that time I feel like I will want to go completely crazy and do 90 days with P90X! I will let you know for sure when I get to that stage! My biggest and most immediate goal is to lose 31 lbs by my 42nd birthday in NOV 2010 which will put me under the "200 mark" at 199 lbs. I am tired of being fat and unhealthy! I'm now more dedicated than ever to lose weight and live a healthier life! I also just became a coach and would love to help others reach their goals as I work towards completing mine too. Fitness is contagious and I feel we all benefit so much more when we are accountable to ourselves in front of others. We can help push, motivate and encourage each other when we all need it. Come on, we have all been there, some days you just don't feel like "pushing play". Those are the days that we need each other for extra motivation and those are the days we tend to have our biggest gains. My wife and one of our neighbors has joined me in daily workouts and I would love for any and all of you to do the same! I would like to have as many of you as possible to start "Turbo Fire" with us. 08/20/10 Ok, I've been consistently losing weight for 3 months straight and lost about 26 lbs total over that time. The last 2 weeks I've been stuck where I am or a pound or 2 higher and just keep More ... 08/05/10 It's been 90 days since I started working out again. Here are the highlights of my stats.
