I have been a resident of Hammond, LA since 1997 when my wife, 2 month old daughter, and I moved from Starkville, MS to take a faculty position at Southeastern Louisiana University. Since living in Hammond, we have had a second daughter. Personally, I played two years of college baseball and was in pretty good shape. Over the years since I finished playing ball, I've ranged from 190 to around 235 lbs. After a few years working out at a local gym, I finally took the plunge in February 2011 and quit the gym and purchased p90x and a set of resistance bands (with the hope of also getting my with to work out with me since I couldn't get her to the gym). We worked out together for the first round (until she hurt something in her elbow/shoulder). After the first round, during which I only used bands and avoided plyo and yoga, I played with different variations of routines and picked up a set of powerblock adjustable dumbells (which I would highly recommend). I started my first 'true' round in January 2012 and followed the classic routine sequence, used the powerblock dumbells, and switched from the band version of pull-ups to a band-assisted pull-up. This was also the first round during which I tried to pay attention to my nutrition (definitely the hardest part).
So, to make a long story short, I have been doing p90x based workouts since 2011. Although I haven't gotten reached my ultimate goals, I love the workouts (even yoga!).
