I'm 43 years old and my son is 5. That's what got me started on this whole P90X thing. I know people that say they want to be around when their kids grow up but that's such a bare minimum goal. Modern medicine might be able to do that for you. What I wanted, and what I promised my son as I talked to him through my wife's stomach, was to be an *active* part of my son's life. Not just around. Not just to see him grow up. I wanted to run with him, bike with him, throw a ball without pulling a muscle or being winded after a couple of minutes. To me, that is going to have so much more meaning than watching him from the lawn chair.

What I have found after doing P90X is that I love it. I love the feeling. I love the energy. I love the transformation that has happened.

And I am that much more saddened with every obesity story that hits the news, especially childhood obesity. I read an article that stated that if things don't change, our kids will have a shorter life span than us. It's not just about length of life either. Their quality of life is going to be so much less. Sad doesn't begin to describe it.

I have decided that I'm going to do what I can to help slow the tide of obesity. I have started with myself and my wife has joined with me. Now, I am encouraging everyone to join with me. Transformation story

I started my personal P90X challenge on July 15th, 2007. Day 60 was on September 12th and the changes are really visible. My gut isn't hanging over as much as it was a couple of months ago. I am really enjoying the workouts and absolutely love that I can see results already. What will Day 90 look like? I don't know but I'll bet it's good. Maybe even damn good.

I have never been so challenged and yet had so much fun getting fit as I am now. I've been challenged and hated it before. I've loved exercise that wasn't challenging. For me, P90X has found the perfect balance that will keep me coming back for more.
