I am 46 years old and mother to two children ages 9 and 7. I am totally without energy and find it hard to keep up with my children, lol. My exercise level has been very low since I quit working and starting homeschooling the kids. It seems like the weight has just rolled on in the past year or so.
Most of my life I have been a size 12 and when I started having to wear 16/18 size clothes it I am 46 years old and mother to two children ages 9 and 7. I am totally without energy and find it hard to keep up with my children, lol. My exercise level has been very low since I quit working and starting homeschooling the kids. It seems like the weight has just rolled on in the past year or so.
Most of my life I have been a size 12 and when I started having to wear 16/18 size clothes it was a wake-up call. I knew I needed to do something but wasn't sure if I would be able to do it physically because around the beginning of May I woke up one day and my hip area hurt so bad that I couldn't sit with my legs together, cross them, lay on that side or even twist to that side without great pain. Sitting was painful, walking up stairs or hills was painful. In short: anti-inflammatories, cortisone shots, 1 xray and 2 MRIs later the bone and joint doctor said nothing was wrong with my bones and gave me a couple of stretches to do.
Since that time it has improved somewhat but I still had real trouble standing up after sitting for any length of time and I still couldn't cross my legs. My husband graciously suggested that I should lose some weight and it might help my hip. I have always had a chronically stiff neck and shoulders too. That's when I made the decision to start working out... the question was where and what to do.
My pastor and his wife are coaches in MDB and talked to me about what the benefits were from working out here in MDB. After hearing and reading some of the success stories and seeing what being a part of the MDB family has done for them I am ready to give it a try. I am ready to get in shape, be able to run and play with my children without getting out of breath and move with ease! I am ready to get balanced in mind, body and spirit!

I started the Slim Series on Oct. 6, 2007, mixing up Cardio Sculpt, Cardio Core and Cool Down Express. I worked out 3-4 days a week for a couple of weeks, lost about an inch at the waist and 5 lbs. More ...
I started the Slim Series on Oct. 6, 2007, mixing up Cardio Sculpt, Cardio Core and Cool Down Express. I worked out 3-4 days a week for a couple of weeks, lost about an inch at the waist and 5 lbs. Then I fell off the wagon over the holidays and gained that back, plus a little bit.
Jan. 2008 rolled in and I knew I needed to get back into my workout routing. Right now I am working out approx. 4-5 days a week using Slim Express mixed up with Hip Hop Abs, and various martial arts stretches and moves that my husband is doing with me.
My hip range of motion improved dramatically once I started working out and doing the martial arts stretching and moves. I can now sit comfortably, cross my legs, walk up hill and stand up with just a twinge of pain now and then. I am certain that as I continue with the program even those twinges will go away! I have also noticed that my neck and shoulders don't feel as stiff and problematic. I am thrilled with the benefits I am getting from working out.
I intend to actually feel comfortable wearing my bathing suit to the pool with the kids this year! I am a work in progress and will post more results as they happen.
