I am a 19 year old college guy at Mizzou. I swam on the state champion Rockhurst Swim Team all four years of high school. I work as a coach for a neighborhood swim team during the summer, and focus on school for the rest of the year. I am now focusing on being a Team Beachbody Independent Coach.

I recently completed my ACE Certification course at school, and am a certified personal fitness

I began the summer as an ex-high school athlete seven months out of practice. The muscle tone and mass I had worked so hard for in six years of swimming had diminished, leaving me unhappy with my then current shape. I was hired as the assistant swim coach of a local swim team for the summer, and I knew I would have to set a great example with my habits so that the kids would see that hard work pays off. On top of this job, I was also swimming for the team as a senior member. I was sick of the 14,000 yard days of high school swimming, and I needed something else to get me into shape. I saw a P90X infomercial on TV late one night and decided to give it a shot. So begins my transformation...
In Phase I, I began to reshape my body. I cut the fatty foods I was used to eating out of my diet. There was quite a change in the kitchen as all the cupcakes and donuts were replaced by fruits and vegetables. The diet plan kept me restricted to only nutritious foods, but it never left me hungry at the end of the day.
During phase II, I saw a major improvement in overall muscle tone. I finally bought a pull-up bar, which replaced the bands I had been using in my exercises. I also started biking 24 miles one day a week for more cardio. I started to see results promised by the program.
Day 58 was the summer league swimming championships. I arrived fully confident that I would be able to compete at the elite level, and I was not disappointed by my decision to replace long swim practices with P90X. Oh, and the comments about how I looked in a speedo were pretty encouraging, too.
During the first part of phase III, I noticed that my core had grown in size and ripped-ness. I used it to prepare me for the next phase in my plan, P90X+.
I am now in the process of completing P90X+ at college. I have had some trouble finding the right foods here, but I am still noticing major gains in the pictures I take. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to get in shape.
