I am a 40 year old with a wonderful wife (Jill) and three kids (Hannah 12,
Callan 10, and Shane 7). I have been
involved in athletics (football, baseball, wrestling, cross country, hockey)
since I was younger wanting to follow in
my brother's footsteps. The sibling rivalry and competition was very healthy
and pushed me to the best I could be.

My last workout in the gym pushing heavy weights was August 07. I wanted
to take some time off from everything to recover
from the softball season and give my knee a chance to rest and recover. I re-
evaluted my physical condition in December 07
and knew I had to make some changes. At 5'8" and weighing 200 lbs, I
realized that I let myself go way too long. After a four
month layoff from any activity, it was time to get healthy. I was first
introduced to P90X by my brother-n-law Jim in November
07. I was very interested in the program and was encouraged by his
excitement. He brought over the dvds and gave me a
glimpse of what to expect. He praised the program and workouts and was
encouraged by his transformation. I realized that I
needed to have a goal and a plan before I could succeed. I purchased the
program and knew if I was going to have success, I
had to be disciplined and trust those who designed the plan. I wasn't going
to pick and choose what and when. I knew I had to
do as instructed. The P90X nutrition and exercise plan is done for you. I
knew that I didn't have to tweak any program but
simply follow those who came before me. On January 7 2008, I started at
200 lbs and have been very strict with the nutrition
plan utilizing both the meal and portion approach. I had some fear of failure
before starting. Most people need to see some
tangible evidence that a program will work. I saw the 90 day transformations
in the commercials and said to myself that I
wanted to look like they did and be HEALTHY!! I have been physically able to
perform athletically and thought that it may be too
difficult of a challenge to discipline myself to this program for 90 days. I
simply decided that I would use that fear to motivate
myself. I am in week 12 of my first trip through and have seen the
transformation. Weighing in a 170 lbs this morning, I have
seen and felt the change that my body drastically needed. You can do this
program if you simply decide to do so. It is life
changing and it has been extremely educational for me. You too can have the
same results.
