I was a college soccer player and a former professional water skier. I was extremely fit and very ripped. I am 5'8" tall and I weighed 155 pounds until I was 24. I played college soccer and was very fit and lean because of the amount of running we did every day. After college I played a little soccer, but without the regimented training My name is K.C. Crabb and this is my P90X story!
I was a college soccer player and a former professional water skier. I was extremely fit and very ripped. I am 5'8" tall and I weighed 155 pounds until I was 24. I played college soccer and was very fit and lean because of the amount of running we did every day. After college I played a little soccer, but without the regimented training schedule of college soccer I began to struggle with my fitness. I have never been a fan of distance running, so the only other way I knew to get fit was lifting weights. At this time I decided to become a body builder.
As I began to dive deeper into the body building lifestyle I gained 50 lbs in 2 years. My body fat percentage was 7% and I was big and shredded through my early 30s. When my career began to take a lot of time I began to stop working as much and my body shape changed rapidly! I didn't gain a lot of weight, but my body fat percentage changed to 28%. All the muscle I worked hours and hours to create converted to fat.
By the time I realized I need to make a change it was late in my 30s. My metabolism had slowed, I began to get injured more when I lifted weights in my shoulders and in my back. I tried to start running even though I didn't like it, but that is when my body really hurt. Because I was a water skier my body took a lot of abuse from jumping. The pounding and stress from the landings and crashes took a toll on my lower back and my joints. My knees hurt, my hips and lower back hurt, my shoulders hurt, my neck hurt, and my body just ached overall.
The next thing I tried was the diet roller coaster! I tried all kinds of diets over and over again! I tried the low fat diet, I did the low carb diet. This diet worked well, but I knew my heart was paying the price and the menu just gets old so I stopped and gained the weight back immediately!
That is when my friend told me he and my other friend were starting the P90X program from Beach Body. I had seen the infomercials, but was very skeptical as most of us are about get something for nothing schemes. My friend is on Facebook with me and started posting his daily progress, but I was still very skeptical. Then he posted his 30 day pictures and I was shocked with the results! I saw the pictures from the infomercials, but this was my 36 year old friend and he was already in great shape in just 30 days!
I bought the P90X program, bought a pull up bar (even though I knew I could only do about 3 pull ups), bought the push up bars, bought the protein shake, and then bought the recovery drink from beach Body. I started the program and was terrible! I could only do 1/2 of the reps on push ups and 5% of the pull ups that this 45 year old instructor (Tony Horton) could do. In addition, I could only get through 1/2 of the disc before I was exhausted. The next day I pushed play on the Plyo work out and again I could only do 1/2 of the work out. I kept pushing play every day and after 2 weeks i could get through the entire work out video and my reps began to increase. After 30 days I had lost 11 pounds and my body fat had dropped 8%.
This work out video is for real, and only the committed need apply! You have to be able to commit to the diet and the work out for maximum results! If you go in half hearted you will fail out and not see the results you want.
I am still going strong and I will continue this program for the rest of my life! It is a lifestyle that is easy to follow once you get through the first 14 days and it is a life changing program!
