I am the classic cautionary tale of the superior athlete turned couch potato. My name is Tiara and I am 20 years of age. My story begins when I started playing basketball at the age of 7. My conquest in sports helped me maintain a healthy weight throughout my 8 years of playing. I quit the team in my sophomore year, and everything went down hill from there. As many of you know, it is very easy for athletes to pick up bad eating habits, this is mainly due to us burning off a good portion of calories in practice and at games. When I quit the team I kept those bad eating habits, but I did not replace basketball with another physical activity. I would constantly find myself in a state of self loathing because I seem to have consistently gained 5-8 pounds per year for the remainder of high school. I didn't even want to go to prom. I continued my terrible eating habits throughout my first year of college. Then one day during summer break, I took a good look at my life and decided it was time for a change. I dropped to half time status at my college to fully focus on my change of career (I am now a successful real estate investor), and getting back into peak physical shape. Like many BeachBody members, I saw the P90X infomercial and decided then that P90X was the way to go. The joke was on me however. That box sat on my dresser for a 8 months before I finally decided to give it a shot. I will be starting the P90X program on January 1, 2010, and I look forward to bringing it!
