Born and raised in South Bend, IN. After leaving active duty Army, I was not able to maintain the physique I achieved while deployed. I basically let myself go because of a back injury. Never thought about working out again, and ate whatever I wanted.
I started to realize that I was not living a healthy lifestyle and want to be around for my daughter and future wife.
I write, play, and record music (any instrument you can think of, I play.).
That's me, in a nutshell.

Basically I have had a pretty interesting last, we'll say ten, years. I joined the Army in May of 2002. Took me awhile after 9/11. I should say, I took the ASVAB through the Air Force right after 9/11/01 and passed. And when I say right after, I mean like 9/15/01.
The score is good for a year and it took me almost that long, and a move to Indianapolis, to get back to a recruiter's office. Turned out, the Air Force guy wasn't in, and the Army recruiter talked a good game.
I went in to Basic Training a flabby 185 lbs. No muscle. No training. And when they were through with me, about four months later, I was a lean, mean 152lbs of rock solid muscle. Went home for leave, put on a few pounds, got to my unit, lost them.
In 2003 I met my now ex-wife. We were married and soon after I got orders to Afghanistan. About four weeks before the deployment, she told me, to my surprise, she was pregnant.
So, I went to the first few doc appointments, and then shipped out. Eight months and some close calls later, I came home to see my baby born. Errolyn Faith. She is my everything.
While overseas, I got into serious shape. I mean i came home and my chest was big, my arms were solid and I had a six pack. And shortly after that, I went on a 4 mile ruck march and competed with a ranking Staff Sergeant in my unit. We each loaded about 80lbs in our rucks and were the first two to finish. Four miles, 80lbs, uphill for two of those miles, in less than 36 minutes.
The next early morning, I was in the hospital for, what I found out later, two herniated disks in my lower back.
I was put on a "dead man's profile" basically stating I could lift no more than twenty lbs and absolutely no running or heavy physical activity.
Physical therapy on my post, at the time, was a joke. I reenlisted and went to Hawaii where my life fell apart. My then wife went off the deep end and I had to send her home, while trying to file for a divorce and take care of my little girl. I started to feel better physically, and then reinjured my back, to the point of near surgery.
Mental and physical stress weighed heavily, and soon I received an honorable discharge to get home and take care of my daughter. That was 2006.
A few attempts at work out regimens, and a lot of food and years later, here I am. I want to live healthy. Since my daughter was 3 I taught her to understand that McDonalds and Burger King and fast food in general is poison for your body. And she tells everyone she knows too!
But my weight, and my out of shape body speaks volumes. One day, Errolyn was laying with her head on my belly, watching tv. She said "Daddy, your belly is so soft and huge!". That was it. I knew I had to do something. I had been meaning to get P90X. Watched all the infomercials. And one day finally said let's do this!
So here I am and my daughter comes in and shows me HER Karate moves and eats salads with me. It's great!
I can't wait til day 90 and beyond!
