Grapevine, TX I am a life-long fitness fan. Ever since I was a kid, I loved running and working out. All through high school, I had a core group of great friends and we'd push ourselves to the max with "Rambo" workouts. Man, we were nuts. My best friend, Scott, was one of those crazy guys and is also my Team Beachbody Coach. Amazing that we're still pushing ourselves decades later.

I relocated to Dallas, Texas a few years ago and have come to love trail running. After living up north, I am spoiled with great running weather all year long. To date, I have run around 17 marathons or longer races. Six of them have been trail marathons including three 50 KM (31 mile) ultramarathons and a 60-mile stage race. My profile picture is me racing up the stairs of the finish of my first ultra.
So while I've always loved fitness, it doesn't mean that I've always been fit. I've been lazy and watched the pounds pile on, almost effortlessly. Exercising and eating right are simple -- but definitely not easy.
As a runner, I never thought that I could incorporate P90X into my program. But that didn't stop me from watching the infomercial dozens of times. Fortunately, a couple of great running friends told me how they were using P90X and I could see their results. Few things motivate a runner more than seeing their friends get faster! In a blink, I was hooked. I was amazed how much stronger of a runner - both physically and mentally - I became from using P90X. Now I'm hooked and can vary my P90X workouts to fit whatever training phase I'm in.
Happy training!

I don't have a dramatic transformation story. I've been fortunate to have been healthy and active my whole life. However, the biggest "transformation" took place in April 2005. After reading a book by Lance Armstrong's coach Chris Carmichael, I made the link between my inability to recover after hard workouts with my body's inability to properly process animal protein. Chris' book suggested I try going meat-free for two weeks.
Wow! What an eye-opener. After those two weeks, I became a vegetarian. For me, plant-based proteins made a big difference in my body. I dropped about 10 lbs. and have felt great ever since.

09/07/10 I love Tony Horton's phrase in P90X: " Two words: recovery drink ."
Perfectly stated, but nonethless, an understatement. I don't think enough people realize the importance of an effective recovery More ... 06/01/10 Tabata intervals. Google it. Want some crazy fun? Then you should check these out.

So, why is Plyometrics so critical?
