I am an endurance athlete with a wife two kids. I work in the IT field and I am someone who is very disciplined, but not without sacrifice.
I took one leap of faith and started a goal, that goal was to run the Chicago Marathon. No sooner though, after meeting that goal, I hungered for the next level; I realized that running wasn’t enough to satisfy me. From there, a triathlete was born. My new goal is to do an Ironman. So far I have competed in multiple Triathlons and have done very well. I have even inspired a few others in my family to try.
With the help of P90x, I began to find a sense of fulfillment setting new and more challenging goals as well as encouraging others to test their perceptions of what an athlete is. I believe there is one in all of us; we just need to take that courageous first step.
I found a greater purpose by helping others meet their goals and that makes the experience that much sweeter. I would love to continue bringing my drive and commitment to achieving ultimate health to others, as I know first hand how much it can make the difference between success and failure.

My journey began about 5 years ago after we purchased our first home. My wife and I were visiting my Mother-In-Law in Michigan and we had decided to take a walk in the summer air for a talk. I expressed to my wife my disappointment with choices made in my earlier life, namely regarding my chances at a career in baseball. Injury and blame was overshadowing me and left me feeling as if I had missed something BIG in my life. My wife then turned to me and made a very simple statement, “Find another outlet”. That was the beginning.
I decided to try my skills with running. Now mind you, I had no plans to become some ultra-marathon man, especially being an ex “pack a day” smoker. I was the guy you would see having a smoke before he walked into the gym and on his way out. That aside, I started to enjoy to challenge and the concentrated effort it took to start. My life was very complicated; we had a new house, a two-year-old daughter, a job change, and my wife was trying to start her business. My goal to run a marathon was not necessarily welcomed. However, the call was there. My first 5K was actually inspired by a dear friend who was diagnosed with inoperable cancer that was incurable. No sooner, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While both of these people were my motivation to start a new sport, never did I think it would open the door to myself.
Then my wife and I came across the P90x program. Now mind you, I felt I was in pretty good shape despite never quite being able to get that sense of being at my absolute best. Mainly being, I realized that I told myself I could eat as many carbs as I wanted to because I was running. In addition, I was getting insufficient sleep and enjoying multiple cocktails frequently. P90x was about to change that.
After watching the commercial multiple times, we made the purchase. This was going to be no easy task. With the arrival of our new daughter, I was up at least twice a night for feedings. I was also finishing up the last quarter of my Masters degree. I knew it was going to take dedication and discipline.
Once the program arrived, my wife and I dove right in. Now I can tell you, there were several times in the beginning that I thought I was going to puke! Never before was I pushed to the limits as I was in these workouts. Now I have a reputation in my family and by friends for my dedication and commitment to working out and leading a healthy lifestyle, but this was a whole other level. To sum it up, after 90 days I was a true believer and literally had to contain myself when I saw the changes. My body had transformed into a state that I never thought I could attain. I can honestly say I am at a stage right now where I am not only amazed, but also very, very proud of what this program has done for me. I feel for the first time, my body is an example of the athlete I always felt lived inside of me. As for the icing on the cake, the forum and overall community support with the site has opened my eyes to how much I enjoyed sharing the journey. I had always considered myself a loner, but no more. People were encouraging me and were being encouraged by me. That was huge. Not only did P90x help me obtain my physical goals, they also introduce me to great people along the way.
