When I turned 29. I became increasingly concerned about the shape I was going to be in within the next few years. There was a commercial I remember that stated after age 30 our metabolism slowed down. I guess that was something I had always been aware of, but with the big THREE O right around the corner, it became more of a pressing issue. 
 
I was active as a teen. I joined my school's track field team during my junior year. But that was over a decade ago and I had already seen my girlfriends I graduated with fill out over the years. My own family history suggested my inclination to become a "big girl" if I wasn't paying attention. And I already had two children. I knew it was time to become.
 
I immediately changed my eating habits...note if you will that I DID NOT say diet! And after some research, I became convinced that just eating right was not going to be enough to get the results I wanted or needed. I had to incorporate exercise. The concept of proper eating AND exercise suddenly made more sense than it ever did in my life.
 
The one thing I believe whole-heartedly is that to be teacher of a healthier lifestyle, at any level, you must be actively a part of a healthier lifestyle yourself. The role of a health and fitness trainer can only be credible by example and self application of a soundly designed fitness routine.
 
A higher level of physical fitness and overall wellness is the foundation of fulfilling life and peek performance; no matter where you are or what you're doing. And I decided the only thing better than improving your own quality of life is improving someone else's. This is my deeply appreciated passion.
 
I'll be the first to admit that I didn't start out looking like Ms. Fitness USA, so I understand where a good many of you are coming from. I am ready to help you learn what I learned. How to exercise, lose weight, build muscle, and adopt a healthier way of living. Make adaptable and lasting changes to improve yourself to a point where anything is possible. You can feel stronger, happier and be optimistic to the idea of who you can become...the person you already are.
