Roseville, CA I have been into fitness since the 80's, and I have seen a lot of stuff! I started working out when I went to college and gained the "freshman 10" and made it part of my life. We stood in a cicle for an aerobics class, leg warmers and headbands, and did (it seemed) a hundred kicks. I also started weight training with the guys and did a bodybuilding show! It was amazing to see how I could I have been into fitness since the 80's, and I have seen a lot of stuff! It was amazing to see how I could change my body, but some of the methods I saw by others were over the top and not very healthy.
Now at 43, I feel like my overall health is more important from the inside out, eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. I have been a fitness instructor for 10 years now and love inspiring and helping others. Overall health is much more important to me than that perfect look, although it's a great benefit! I have been teaching TurboKick for over 10 years,(which is the live version of TurboJam), yoga, pilates, spinning, and strength training classes at various gyms. I also have my AFAA Personal Training certification, and working on the NASM personal training certification. I am constantly looking at new programs and ways to get fit, why be bored? I love these programs at Beachbody!
Even though I am at the gym a lot, I know how hard it can be to lose that extra weight or the impact the rest of your life has on your eating habits. I lost 30 pounds this last year by watching my portion sizes and eating in balance. Even as a fitness instructor, I know it's not just the workout, but eating right, and getting the right supplements and sleep your body needs and making it fun! Most people think I am much younger than I look and I attribute it to my lifestyle of health and fitness.
