As a child, I was chubby, clumsy, shy, and ALWAYS the last one to get picked for a team in gym. My parents used to tease me that I couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time :-) As a teen, I was tired of being on the plump side, and started dieting (EEK! especially for You probably couldn't pick someone more unlikely to be an advocate for diet and exercise, much less a fitness instructor. My parents used to tease me that I couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time :-) As a teen, I was tired of being on the plump side, and started dieting (EEK! especially for such a young girl) I would eat only once a day, limit my calories in a ridiculous way, end up STARVING and then of course would eat gross amounts of food which would leave me feeling guilty. In college, I battled depression, stopped eating some days altogether (probably flirted with eating disorders a bit), and became pretty thin, but not at all healthy. Sadly, I did this for years. It wasn't until I was pregnant that I began taking nutrition seriously, as my doctor told me I was at risk of losing my baby due to dangerously low body fat. I began to eat healthy foods and take daily walks for exercise. After having her, I was pretty close to a healthy weight for my age and size. I was a stay at home mom, and soon I found myself eating what she hadn't finished, doubling my portions, snacking during Sesame Street, and abandoning my walks. When my daughter was starting school, I weighed more than what I had at nine months pregnant. My doctor urged me to begin to maintain a healthy lifestyle... and then he said the magic words. Your daughter grows up watching you, and will follow your example. I looked at her and knew it was time to turn things around. But me??? Exercise????? I was an infomercial junkie... trying this machine and that program- and nothing was working. I was discouraged when I saw the commercial for Turbojam. Why not? I thought. I'd tried everything else. It was the best phone call I've ever made. The workouts are fun, easy and get results. Soon, I would find myself popping one in just because I had the time. I even started to see definition in my abs! I got on the Beachbody chatrooms, found Chalene and beside singing her praises, asked where I could find a class nearby. She suggested if the gyms nearby didn't offer one, I should become certified. And I did!!! Soon after I became pregnant with my second daughter, and I was able to Turbo throughout the entire pregnancy. I recovered quickly and now teach Turbo in schools and community centers, focusing on moms and teens (though all are welcome). It's great to see the difference exercise makes in how women and girls feel about themselves. I was on Twitter, where I talk about Turbo all the time, and it was suggested I become a coach. I thought about it, and it makes all the sense in the world. The programs and the products work! My husband lost 80 lbs on P90 and P09X. I'm in the best shape of my life (and hope to improve) with Turbo... Then, the next step SHAKEOLOGY. My coach suggested I try it, and I'm hooked. I give samples to everyone I know, and they're all believers :-D The addiction spreads! Beachbody products have really turned my life around! What better to do than share it with others?
