Life is always an adventure around here. With a house full of boys, it’s never a dull moment! You’d think I’d be in tip-top shape keeping up with them and all their sports, but that’s just not the case. Honestly, I fooled myself into thinking that moving to the country 2 1/2 years ago, with all the flower beds and property we had to care for, I wouldn’t really have to “workout”. Well, the relaxed lifestyle was great, but the pounds started coming! You see, I had been a dancer all my life. I love to dance. This always kept me in pretty good shape. I never put a lot of weight on during my pregnancies, it was afterwards that I struggled! After my first son was born, I was convinced I was going to get back to my high school weight and I did! I lost almost 50 lbs. from implementing a different eating philosophy and doing aerobics with weights. I love aerobics and have enjoyed teaching aerobics in the past. I gradually gained about 20 lbs. over the next few years, but was at a healthy weight. Here I was, now with 2 little ones, stuck in the house all day. We were living in Michigan at the time with 5 months of winter. So, I took up running on the treadmill as my main source of exercise; not to mention the emotional, mental and spiritual health it provided. I was hooked! I kept it up through my next pregnancy, a miscarriage and the birth of our third son in Dec. 2001. It again took me a few years to take off the “baby weight”, but I did it. If only I had kept it off. No, from Sept. 2004 to Dec. 2006, I managed to pack on almost 50 lbs! That was my wake-up call. I was done gaining weight. With the move back to Texas, I had taken up “drinking with the guys”. Oh, and the southern cooking out here with all the sausage and bacon will fatten anyone up! With just a few small changes in diet and by taking up running again, I lost 20 lbs. in 2007. I’m aiming for the next 30 in 2008! I have a great group of running buddies now who don’t have a gym to go to, so they depend on each other for accountability. We have run in two 5Ks already and plan to do more. We started Rockin’ Body in February and loved it! The dancer in me came out! Then we moved on to Turbo Jam and loved that! I did the 10-Day Kick Start eating plan which really got me on track to eating mostly whole, fresh foods high in protein, low in fat. The main thing was MAKING myself eat early enough in the day and keep it up all day. I was the classic case of coffee in the morning with little or no breakfast; hungry around 10/11am; little lunch; bigger dinner; then snack all night! I have reversed that and eat all day now, but the right foods! Since my husband is doing this with me and we work together all day, we are able to make the same foods and keep each other on track with our eating. This really helps. I also take the P90X multi- vitamin supplements and the Performance Formula vitamins. Those have made a tremendous difference in my energy and performance levels. I also have a Whey Protein Powder shake after each workout now and use the Protein Bars as my "candy fix" every once in awhile. It doesn't take much and it fills me up. I feel great ALL DAY LONG! I get questioned on how I have so much energy, even at the end of the day. I just feel better! I saw great results with both Rockin' Body and Turbo Jam. I lost inches all over, but especially in my core. My abs dropped over 2" and my waist 1.5". I needed to go to the next level with my fitness. My running was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but dancing again was so much fun and I was lacking terribly in my toning. I felt good, but I knew I could be in much better shape than I was. I just wanted to be smaller again. Well, after 2 months of intense workouts and getting back in shape, my husband and my workout buddies decided to take the plunge with me and start P90X! We started Monday, April 21st and it is AWESOME! I’m on my way back to completely toning all over, will you join me? The results are happening, as I've stuck with it. I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in years already! I was up to a size 14 in jeans and can wear my 10s now! I've lost 3" in my thigh! That's almost humorous to me. WOW! No wonder people are noticing. I'm so excited to be shrinking while forming muscle. It's so much fun and I love being able to go to my closet and put anything on. Now the problem is... stuff is too big! YEA! I've been waiting to say that for 3 years now. Staying in shape and being healthy are important to me and I tend to surround myself with others who are like-minded. I love to encourage friends to stay on track and I count on that from them, too. That’s where I feel being a Million Dollar Body Coach enables me to use my passion for helping others in a greater community of individuals. I want to get to know you, see you reach your goals and help you get there. If I help you, I am encouraged myself. That’s the cool part of being a Coach. I am here for you when you just don’t have it in you to do another workout. We all have those moments and we must push through them. The reward is worth the effort! The energy I get from a great workout is worth the sacrifice. The difference I see and feel is worth the sacrifice. Knowing I am healthier is worth the sacrifice. Together, we can be in the best shape ever, eat better and be happier with ourselves, which benefits all those around us. Who doesn’t like a happier, healthier person?
