I began my quest to once again be fit in January 2009, it was clearly going to be an uphill battle. At the end of the holiday season in 2009 I was tipping the scales at just over 275 lbs, and a pant size of 44"+! During the summer of '09 my doctor told me that if I didn't change my habits I would undoubtedly be the victim of a heart attack or stroke. He gave me an ultimatum. Either lose 20 lbs by the following year, begin taking blood pressure & cholesterol medications, or get a different doctor. He had also told me that I was at definite candidate and at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Once the holidays past, and knowing my doctor's deadline was nearing, I chose to start a fitness / weight loss program. I began with basic cardio routines, losing an average of about 8-10 lbs each month for the first 5 months. I loved the results, and the recognition from others. Once I got down around 220, it became much more difficult to continue losing at that rate, but I noticed I was also getting more definition and was loving the results. I then began doing a high intensity weght routine, using low low weights with high repetitions. My waist size was still going down (from the original suck in to button my 44's) down to my current 34"waist pants, which are begining to be too big!

My appointment finally came with my doctor in late June. My labs were unbelievable! My cholesterol (good and bad) was perfect! Blood pressure was down to 109/90 from 145/105 and my triglycerides are perfect!!! I received a huge pat on the back from my doctor, who I have to thank for kicking me in the tail to get started!!! I can't tell you how proud I was of myself! It's what motivates me daily.

All through this time I have been considering the p90x programs, continually putting off the inevitable.

My wife recently asked me, "whats your next goal?" (she knows how I think, I'm very goal oriented) I answered her with purchasing the P90X and taking my fitness to the next level!

Today I begin my latest fitness quest. I'm starting at 204 lbs and my goal is to get down around 185. It's only 19 lbs right? I also want to lose another 3-4 inches off my waist, gaining muscle definition, and get RIPPED!!!

I CAN DO THIS!!!!!
