Well, 35 pounds heavier, sickly, and without energy in 2006, I decided to take control over my life. Broke up with my loser boyfriend, watched "The 1,000 lb man" and "The 800 lb woman" on tv to get motivated, flipped over the channels to the Turbo Jam infomercial, and bougt it that night. I began my work out at 180 pounds and did the 10-quick start program on Feb. 1, 2004. I couldn't finish the workouts every day, but at least I did some every day and I really watched what I ate. No more snacking except for healthy foods (I need to eat about 5 times a day, but little meals). By June 1, 2006 I had lost 35 pounds, no longer sickly, and cut back on smoking. Now, I'm exercising because it's habit and I think I'm addicted. This time, addicted in a good way!!!

I'd been fairly fit for most of my life by running. After a disasterous 2 year relationship and heavy stress personally and professionally, I ballooned from 155 pounds to 180 pounds in two years. February 2006 was my lowest point. I had just broken up my relationship, majorly depressed, smoking heavily, had no energy and I was always feeling sick and taking ibuprofen. When I got terribly bad heartburn, my doctor told me to lose weight, quit smoking, quit caffeine and ibuprofen. I hadn't realized I'd gained so much weight. I went from a size 12 to a size 16!! The biggest in my life.
I decided to not only adhere to the doctor's orders, but make a "life style change". NOT a diet, as that implies that it's a temporary change, but I decided to eat better, exercise, and live better.
In bed at 7:30pm due to no energy, I saw the commercial for Turbo Jam after having watched "The 1,000 pound Man" and the "800 pound Woman" on the health channel. I thought, that could be me. I decided to try Turbo Jam figuring I could do anything for 10 days especially as it promised up to 10lbs/10inches/10days. I was diligent those 10 days, and even though I couldn't finish the workouts at first, I did them everyday and did as much as I could. I learned how to eat better with the booklet provided. Amazingly, in those 10 days I lost 8 pounds!
In six months I had lost 25 pounds and was down to 155! I bought new clothes in a SIZE 10, and the last time that happened, I was 30 years younger in high school!
Now, one and a half years later, I'm at 143 pounds and graduated to P90X. I'm more defined and actually have a waist and down to a size 8. I've never been a size 8 (except for maybe grade school...) and my goal is to wear a bikini in Mexico with my new boyfriend January 26, 2008. I feel so good about my body that I'm not a perfect 10, but I feel so good that I wear a bikini now and feel proud, (though I have that "age 47 belly fat that stubbornly won't come off).
My friends, family, and work colleagues have noticed the change and I now play volleyball on Wednesdays and still work out with P90X. I have a friend and two family members who are either buying or just bought Turbo Jam and P90X for Christmas. That's great, and I also have workout buddies at work at noon hour to keep motivated. I love telling my story to inspire others, and sometimes I can't even believe it!
