I live in San Francisco, CA and am a mom of two beautiful kids! I have a daytime job in Human Resources - but my passion is helping others who struggle with food and weight issues just like me. I was on my first diet at the age of five. I was always the chubby kid. The one picked last for sports teams. I started college already I am a part-time Health, Weightloss and Team Beachbody Coach! I live in San Francisco, CA and am a mom of two beautiful kids! I have a daytime job in Human Resources - but my passion is helping others who struggle with food and weight issues just like me. I was on my first diet at the age of five. I was always the chubby kid. The one picked last for sports teams. I started college already carrying more than the Freshman 15. I never felt pretty or attractive. And I've always used food as my comfort. Now I understand that I am a binge-eater, a compulsive overeater, a food addict and a sugar-addict. It means that when I get upset, stressed, or sad, I instinctively turn to food - but it also means that I turn to food when I'm angry, lonely, frustrated - it even means I turn to food when I'm happy, excited and celebrating. I use food like other people use alcohol and drugs. The difference is that with alcohol, drugs and smoking - even though it is extremely difficult to do, you can live your life completely without it. Food is different - food is a part of what we do every day - we need it to live - so every day, I have to practice "managing my addiction". I'm not perfect by any means - but as I've said, and you can see from my photos - I've been able to do it so that I have lost a significant amount of weight and I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life. At my current weight, I've lost about 65lbs down from my top weight. That means 65lbs worth of choosing to do what is difficult in the short run, to lay the ground work for what I want in the long run. That's really what it's all about - addiction is feeling we "need something right now" - "can't survive without it" - but every time we can calm ourselves down and turn off that false message in our heads - we will be amazed by the outcome. If, for every one slip-up step that has us slide backwards, we can turn around and come out kicking and screaming and take two powerful steps forward - then we will be making progress and moving forward towards our goals. Now, I've run a half-marathon and participated in triathlons. I swim, run and lift weights regularly. And I use my Beachbody videos daily - no matter what, I "push play" every day. I choose to eat healthy the majority of the time and am so proud and ecstatic when my kids tell me things like "I love zucchini" or ask for salad with their pizza. One of the key pieces to my weightloss, weight management, and cravings management has been Shakeology! It is amazing and helps me feel healthier, have more energy and less cravings! Overall, my life keeps getting better and better - as I get healthier and stronger - I believe that true health empowers us and gives us the sense that we are in control of our lives rather than victims of circumstance. And that's all I want for the clients and customers who let me work with them. I am here to help people by giving them my support, encouragement, guidance and coaching to get just a little bit healthier, just a little bit more fit - each and every day. It doesn't have to be rigid and strict to still be life-changing. I truly believe that people can reach their goal weight and become healthier and happier! My biggest strength has always been my positive attitude - my ability to never stop believing that anything is possible. Fitness, working out, exercise - that's definitely a key part of the equation - but you can't pick up the exercise, if you don't put down the food. I'm here to help you do both. And I provide the best tools in the business to do it – Shakeology, Beachbody Fitness Programs and personalized one-on-one coaching - all are geared towards taking daily positive action to improve your health, fitness, nutrition and ultimately weightloss. I love my life now. And though I still shy away from photos or instinctively dismiss compliments, I finally believe that I am a beautiful person - not because of what I wear or what I look like, but because of who I am and what I have been able to accomplish. I feel lucky every day that I get to work with people and help them reach their goals. This is your one life - today matters because today is the first day of the rest of your life. I have struggled with food and weight issues my entire life. I was first introduced to Beachbody with the Power 90 video set about 10 years ago. I fell in love with Tony Horton's energy and attitude. But it wasn't a quick and easy solution - it continues to be a daily push to just do a little better and not give up!! I know I always feel better after exercising and when I'm eating clean. Part of what has helped me continue to have energy and feel great while losing weight has been Shakeology! I LOVE it! I'ts a daily treat! My top weight was about 215. I'm currently about 150. This past year, I became an active Beachbody coach and work to help others reach their goals while I keep pushing mine! I've finished the Power 90 series several times along with Slim in Six. I also like to run, swim and hike. I'm currently working to hit my own final weightloss goal and have finally started the official P90X program to do it! I can't wait to attend the Beachbody Summit in June 2012 with my twin sister and Beachbody coach, Sarah Roberts - SarahKSmile! Meet us there and see us smile and shine together! This is the year!
