My name is Wendy and I love health and wellness. I believe that mental, physical, and spiritual components are all necessary to achieve our health and wellness goals.

I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in History and from the University of Baltimore with a degree in Business Administration. At the moment I'm looking at starting seminary while I complete my application

I'm not going to lie, I was a skinny kid. In 6th grade I weighed 90 pounds, was 4'11" and the wind could blow me over. I stayed on the skinny side until I graduated from the Naval Academy in 2001.

I got comfortable and didn't exercise as much, despite having been an athlete in high school and a cheerleader and powerlifter at the academy, and I put on about 20 pounds. I had never had the problem before so I tried things such as Weight Watchers to help get the weight off. I lost a little bit of weight but didn't really like the program.

I started working out at home and on base at the gym and saw a little success. But when I found out I was leaving the Navy, the stress levels got high and I stopped eating as much and kept working out to gain a sense of control. If I had lost anymore weight I would have met the clinical diagnosis for anorexia. My uniform was sagging on me and the weight loss was obvious. That put me at 115 pounds.

After returning home from the Navy, I stopped being so active and ate more food that was not good for me. I slowly gained weight and, in 2007, hit a high of 198 pounds. I spent the next year running my butt off and getting certified as a personal trainer.

Did I lose the extra weight? No. I'm still working on it. My relationship with food is no longer normal and I may have issues with insulin resistance that I have to work around to get the extra weight off.

Since becoming a personal trainer I have become more committed to helping kids and families learn how to be more healthy and fit on a budget. I have realized that it is not about being a certain size, it's about being as healthy and fit as you possibly can. No excuses.

I call myself "Baltimore's Toughest Trainer" because I want to push you further than you've ever thought you could go. I want you to succeed. That's what I do.

As I continue on my own journey, it will be my pleasure to be with you on your journey. If you would like to join me, contact me and we'll get you started on the right track!
