I am athletic by nature, former rower in college, weight training and running on and off since college. At 43, I'm tired of weight fluctuations, love handles, and flab. I am athletic by nature, former rower in college, weight training and running on and off since college. At 43, I'm tired of weight fluctuations, love handles, and flab. Keeping up with my kids is getting more difficult as I age and as they grow more active as well.
Running alone helped keep weight and shape stable, but did nothing for maintaining body tone or prevent the occasional back ache or muscle spasm.
Beachbody's P90X commercials are inticing and believable. I researched various products and chose the Power 90 series in case P90X was going to be too intense for me. I intend, assuming I get good results from Power 90, to move on to P90X next.
I look forward to more energy, a better body, and a healthier lifestyle.

I started Power 90 on July 7th, 2009 in order to loose weight, drop body fat, and get in better shape to keep up with my kids. Like most people doing P90X or Power 90 these days, I saw the P90X More ...
I started Power 90 on July 7th, 2009 in order to loose weight, drop body fat, and get in better shape to keep up with my kids. Like most people doing P90X or Power 90 these days, I saw the P90X commercials and wondered if it were real and if I could get similar results.
Although I had been running off and on for fitness, it wasn't doing anything to help me loose weight/fat, nor was it doing anything to help strengthen my core and upper body. I researched P90X and Power 90 and decided to start with the Power 90 Bootcamp to build up my core and upper body before attempting P90X.
Power 90 was completed on October 14th, 2009. Results have been good. I did not reach my weight goal, but reached 84% of my aggressive body fat goal. I lost 9 pounds and dropped body fat from 23% to 14%. My waist went from 37" to 34.5 (I fit comfortably in 32 jeans again!), hips from 40.5" to 38" and all muscle areas are the same or slightly bigger. Not bad for the basic bootcamp program.
I failed 2 attempts to start P90X, mostley becuase it was difficulg to consistently carve out over 1-hour per day for the workouts. It was discouraging. But, for Father's Day, June 20, 2010, my wife surprised me with Instanity! I did the fit test and got my butt kicked. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the first few weeks, but I am confident I'll get it done. Besides, my wife is going to do it with me. It will be great to have the company and competition at bringing it and digging deeper every day. I can't let her out do me (and she is more than capable of doing it). . .
