I'm Naisha. Welcome to my beachbody page! Many people know me as an internationally known author and trainer in the fields of natural healing and personal growth. But I didn't join beachbody as a fit and healthy individual. In fact, when I started my beachbody journey, I was obese and struggling with developing health issues that were difficult to reconcile with my public Greetings!
I'm Naisha. Welcome to my beachbody page! Many people know me as an internationally known author and trainer in the fields of natural healing and personal growth. But I didn't join beachbody as a fit and healthy individual. In fact, when I started my beachbody journey, I was obese and struggling with developing health issues that were difficult to reconcile with my public persona. In fact, it was the shocked looks on the faces of some of the attendees one of my workshops that made me take a really close look at exactly how far away from health I had gone. I was 224 pounds, 5'4" and quite simply, not "walking my talk" when it came to caring for myself and my body. I was asked by one attendee when I was expecting to deliver my baby. When I explained that I had delivered her 21 years ago and didn't plan on having another, I realized I HAD to make a change.
I had been a very active and fit child and teenager, and was involved in varsity gymnastics, track and field and cross country running. Then I had an injury that changed all of that. I compacted my knee during a gymnastics routine and was told that I either had to have surgery or give up all high impact sports. My family didn't have insurance or the money for surgery, so I gave up all of the activities that I had loved.
Over the following years I slid into inactivity. I was walking regularly, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference as the weight began to pile on. A couple of years ago I reached 240 pounds, developed asthma and was told that I was pre-diabetic. I made changes in my diet-- which had never been really bad, and began doing quite a bit of cardio-- even purchasing a $4000 souped up treadmill to try to drop weight. And, I did drop a little. But it seemed that no matter how much I walked, I wasn't making much progress.
One day I was watching TV and saw the P90X infomercial. You know the one! It reminded me of the training I used to do in high school gymnastics and I began to wonder, could I really do this? I purchased the program and when it arrived I did almost a week before I got discouraged and stuck it in a closet.
It wasn't until 2 years later, after the fateful "baby" question at the workshop, that I took it back out and RESOLVED to do the program. "Even if I can't get through the whole workout", I told myself, "I'll do what I can". And, that is exactly what I'm doing!
Every workout that I do, I feel better. I am losing weight like crazy, feeling excellent, my blood sugar is much better, my asthma is non-existant, and I have more energy than I have in years! When I started seeing results from week 1, I decided that I wanted to share this with others. If I can do it, anyone can do it! JUST PUSH PLAY!
Looking back, I probably should have started with a less extreme fitness program. But, even starting with P90X, I was able to get through the workouts and now I'm seeing amazing results! The WOWY gym is GREAT! and I love my coach.
I am now absolutely confident that I can get back into the shape I was in while training in high school. Just look through the success stories. MANY others have paved the way! It really can be done!

05/18/10 I've walked 2.5 miles a day with my dog up our mountain and really felt it the first couple of days. Now its great fun and I look forward to the challenge each day. It just reminds me how much we can More ... 05/13/10 Starting again with taking control of my body and my life.
