Some of my favorite memories from my childhood were from gym classes. I was never really the athletic type at any point in my life, though. What I enjoyed most was the playing and trying hard. When I was a child in a small town, we were outside a lot playing with our friends, running and riding bikes.

About a year and a half ago I went to the doctor and for the first time in my life my blood pressure was borderline "high", weighed nearly 200lbs with a body fat percentage that put my into the "overweight" category. I found this situation unacceptable.

A year or so at the gym helped some but then my wife brought Shaun T's Insanity to my attention! So, for Christmas I bought her Slim In 6 and she gave me Insanity as a gift.

I went to a nurse nurse practitioner with a deep background in sports medicine. After some tests, I was given the green-light to get into Insanity. In fact, I found out that my cardiovascular system was in very excellent shape with great recovery abilities. This made me feel more much confident about diving completely into what would be a demanding program.
