I'm a 21-year-old female from Canada. My weight has been up and down my entire life. When I was very young, I was in excellent shape due to sports and other fitness endeavours. When I turned nine, however, I broke my right ankle and what would have been a simple injury turned into a life time chronic pain condition. Feel free to add me as a buddy! I'm a 21-year-old female from Canada. My weight has been up and down my entire life. When I was very young, I was in excellent shape due to sports and other fitness endeavours. When I turned nine, however, I broke my right ankle and what would have been a simple injury turned into a life time chronic pain condition.
I've been on crutches, used a cane, even been in a wheelchair. I'm proud to say that I've been walking unassisted since May 2005!
Even though I've been on my feet again since that time, my pain was still so bad that I think I was hesitant to move in fear of making that pain worse and so, during my teen years, became largely sedentary.
It wasn't until I was 19, just shy of 200 pounds, that I realized I had to make a change. My blood pressure was constantly elevated, my cholesterol levels were high, and my doctor told me that if I didn't control my blood sugar, I would soon become diabetic. Not to mention the fact that I couldn't even walk up a flight of stairs in my own house without getting out of breath!
I decided to make a change and haven't looked back. The lowest my weight has been was in October, 2010 at 115 pounds (I'm 5'4"). I started a new medication in November, 2010, however, and have found that my weight has bumped back up to the 125-130 range.
Even at my slimmest, I still managed to accumulate a lot of fat around my midsection. Since starting the medication, even more so.
TurboFire is my first Beachbody program and I'm hoping it will give me the fat loss I seek.
On March 28, 2011, I began the TurboFire 5 Day Inferno Plan and completed it that same week. I lost 3 pounds and 5 inches.
On April 4, 2011, I began the 20-week TurboFire schedule with the advanced DVDs. I'm loving every minute of it so far! I can't wait to see the results.
