I have always been a "big girl". When I reached 5'11 1/2" at 13 and ate alongside my athletic older brother I definitely qualified as a "big girl". By my senior year in highschool I realized that I was the only one who could fix it, so I started going to an aerobics class at 6am and finally fit into the girls size shorts for Basketball. I never excelled at sports as I was always slowed by the weight! I managed to get my weight down to 180, which I thought was my lowest...I thought I was always going to be a big girl! I continued to exercise most of my adult life, when I had my son in 2003 I stopped exercising as I had no one to watch him, then I had my daughter in 2005 and there was no chance of exercise in sight. November 2006 a friend said "let's join the gym...now", so we did! I started at around 200, and set a goal of 180...but decided to push my limit and go for 170. I reached it in a year-the lightest I had ever been in my adult life. At this point I became a certified Turbo Kick instructor, and now teach 2 times/week. I have maintained this weight +/- 5 pounds for 2 years. I am currently training for my second half marathon, and would like to challenge myself to quit the snacking and strive for 155 pounds! At 6 feet tall this should rid me most of the padding I still have! I think P90X is in my near future!!! Stay tuned for the results!
