MY STORY In 2006 at 162 pounds, I was overweight, had digestive issues, and no gall bladder. My doc looked at my blood work and said I had fat on the liver, and if I did not get it under control I would need a liver biopsy, and I would become Insulin Resilient. In other words...If I did not lose a significant amount of weight, more to the point body fat, I was going to become a diabetic, a diabetic with Fibromyalsia.
I asked how they did liver biopsy's and he said "With a large needle shoved into your liver." Large Needles! That's where I get off. He told me to get the latest South Beach book, the one with the part about belly fat on the front and follow the book. I left there and on the way home I got that book. I sat and read the first 110 pages and it was one of the best reads ever. It was like a mini nutrition lesson. So I took what I learned and followed it, and my physical fitness journey began. Lots of hard work and watching my diet and in Summer of 2007 I was 142, and the doctor was happy. However, I was not. Since I was able to lose 20 pounds, I started thinking about how I could DO BETTER! I could lose maybe 10, or 20 more and be in even better shape and feel better then I did at a 142 pounds.
During this time of my physical fitness journey I started dating an awesome man named Aaron. A man that was active like me, but the bonus was he was an ex-personal trainer. So now I had someone to help me with the next part of my physical fitness journey.
The journey continued in January 2008 as we decided we wanted to start a workout program together. We watched this informercial called "P90X" and thought...Oh My God is this possible. Could we do this? Could I do this? Could I "Bring It" with Fibromyalsia?!? With my Exercise induced Asthma? We watched the infomercial three times, in its entirety. Then we decided to go for it and "Bring it" with Tony Horton. Best decision I have EVER made! At the end of P90X I was down to 132 pounds, and I lost 5% body fat.
SUMMER 2009 Fast forward to Summer 2009, and I am at 127 pounds, a P90X Graduate, and married to Aaron. We are now both Beach Body Coaches, and LOVE to share our stories with anyone that will listen. We just started our latest workout program "Insanity", and Oh My God, I thought P90X was hard. We went through the "Fit Test" and I could not catch my breath the whole time. It was so hard after it was over we laid on my floor to catch our breath and we ell asleep for over an hour.
Finally, I am now in the part of the journey where I continue to learn, keep pushing play, and keep teaching those who will listen. If I can Bring It, anyone can. Just ask how, we would love to help you with your Goals!
