The Power of Self-Worth

The Joan Crocker Story

When my husband Ryan told me he wanted to become a Coach, I told him that I would be supportive but that I wanted nothing to do with it.

I had been suffering from depression, and as an emotional eater, I had gained a lot of weight. Maybe Coaching was a good path for Ryan who had always been into fitness, but who the heck would want to listen to the overweight girl who can’t seem to stick to a program?

It suddenly felt like everyone was getting great results with Beachbody. Ryan was having great success with his clients, and my friends were posting about it on Facebook. So I caved. I signed up as a Coach and bought Insanity online. Afterward, I slammed the MacBook shut, looked up at Ryan, and said, “Are you happy?” Secretly, I was very excited.

I crossed every day off that 60-day calendar and drank my Shakeology religiously. And you know what? I lost 30 lbs.! I found my confidence and happiness again. I felt better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

That’s when I realized the power of what I was sitting on. I had the ability to help others change their lives, and knowing this, I had a responsibility to act on it.

I started working my Coaching business in the morning before I went to work, on my lunch breaks, sometimes at work (oops!), and I couldn’t wait to get home to work some more! I got to a point where my full-time job was no longer serving me, so I quit and put my focus 100% on Coaching. I was scared to quit. I was scared I wouldn’t make enough money. But then I remembered that the beauty of this business is that my success is all up to me!

As I worked hard, my team grew, my income grew, and now, two years later, I have more than tripled my income from my corporate job and am on track to make 6-figures this year!

Coaching has changed my entire life. I liked my old job, but I remember sitting at my desk thinking there has to be more to life than this.

I remember as a kid telling my parents that I thought the way life was setup was stupid. You go to school or work five days a week and only get two days to do what YOU want to do. Life is short, and you spend the majority of it doing things you don’t want to do. I remember my dad saying, “Then change it.”

With Coaching, I found my purpose. I found my passion. I’m the luckiest person alive because I get to help others do the same. So if you’re considering becoming a Coach, don’t ask yourself if you can be successful. Of course, you can. Ask yourself what’s holding you back, and then ask if that’s worth sacrificing your life for. Nothing is more important than your purpose, your freedom, and your passion. And you can find that with Coaching.
