Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
My weight has always fluctuated. I found myself doing yo-yo diets that would put me back at square one with all the weight I didn’t want or feel good in. Before this program, my husband and I would go out to eat a lot. I would make so many excuses not to make it to the gym. I would do silly diets to drop the weight within a month and would gain it all back so quickly. After I had my daughter in 2014, the list of excuses to work out grew even more. I didn’t have anyone to watch her so I could go the gym. Needless to say, I hardly made it to the gym. I was at my heaviest with my daughter but didn’t know what to do to lose the weight. I was so unhappy with my body!
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
At the beginning of 2016, I started following a few ladies on Instagram who were doing the 21 Day Fix, and their transformations inspired me. Especially hearing their stories made me believe that I could do it too. There were also mothers working full time and wanting to get in shape. I could relate to them since I am working full time, married, with a toddler. When I saw that everything could be done from home, I quickly realized that it was what I needed.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge for me before starting this program was “no time.” My husband had a crazy work schedule so I couldn’t consistently count on him to watch our daughter so I could go to the gym. We were signed up for a gym that I needed to drive to. Even on evenings when my husband was home to watch our daughter, I felt guilty going to the gym and taking away from our family quality time. I felt stuck. My husband and I would rarely go to the gym. In other words, we were just throwing our money away. 21 Day Fix helped me overcome this challenge because now I wake up every day at 5 AM to work out from home. No longer do I worry about who is watching our daughter, no more guilty feeling about being away from my family, and no longer have to be concerned that bad weather will prevent me from getting a workout in. The program has also taught me to cook healthy meals for my family. Overall, the program has changed our lifestyle and we love it!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I love the 21 Day Fix because it truly has broken all the unwanted habits that were making me unhappy! All new habits of eating right, working out daily, and drinking my shakes have become my new lifestyle. I love waking up first thing in the morning to do my workouts. I do my workout before my husband and daughter wake up. After my workout, I love to have my shake. I quickly noticed a change in my day. I had so much more energy in the mornings. I would get so much more done in the morning. It helps me jump-start my day!2
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I have now done several rounds of 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix EXTREME and I can see the transformation all over my body. The workouts have really toned my body. My biggest problem area is my stomach and I have seen my stomach just shrink before my eyes! I also love how much the program has changed my lifestyle. I enjoy cooking more for my family. My husband has lost weight simply from eating more healthy cooked meals. I find myself being happier and more positive overall.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
The program has completely changed my lifestyle. I workout daily now. I am more conscious about what I am eating. I feel that I have become more positive since this lifestyle change; I come to work early, I have more energy, I am getting more sleep.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
The Challenge Group helped me stay accountable since I needed to post all my meals, shakes, and workouts. I also found that it kept me motivated throughout my process by seeing everyone’s transformation pictures.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
My Beachbody Coach was super helpful throughout my whole experience. She would always check in with me. She would encourage me and cheer me on every day. I feel I have been able to form a friendship with her. She is very caring and thoughtful. I really appreciate her.
Tell us about your experience with Beachbody On Demand. If applicable, how has it helped you achieve your goals?
I really like the DVDs, but I have to say BOD is super helpful for when you are away. We recently were on vacation and I was able to get my workouts done!
